In Cabin Air Filter

I have yet to change my in cabin filter and it's been over 2 years, and 33K on the odometer. It is recommended we change it yearly (or 20K ... I think ??)

Anyways, my dealership wanted $47.54 for just the filter; that price does not include installation. I thought Canadian Tire might carry it, but no brand of filters there had it for our Versa.

So I ordered some from the following site.

https://www.logical-source.com:443/default.html

I ordered three filters, and one for my brother's SE-R and with shipping to Canada the total was $39.97!!!! Still cheaper than buying just ONE from my dealership!

$39.97! Geez! But at least you're STILL saving $ vs. getting ripped off at the dealership. Good tip!
She needs to get it to Canada which can pose a problem or raise the cost to her door astronomically.

Yep, but remember I ordered 3 of the Versa filters and 1 for the SE-R for under $40 ... That includes shipping. That equals out to about $10 each filter. Compare that to $47.54 here at my dealership for only 1 filter and I am getting a bargain :D
No, but it's the same as getting an engine filter from Canadian Tire by a different brand. These are not Nissan branded, but they fit. It will do the job. I would have purchased it at Canadian Tire; if they had it.
I've replaced my filter 2x. once @ the dealer (MISTAKE) and once with a filter from logical-source. they looked identical. I'll probably do another replacement within the year. only takes about 20 minutes.
I purchased a BECK/ARNLEY Part #0422085 cabin filter. While it looked the same as the one that came out of my Versa the plastic was definitely of cheaper quality. The tab that hold it in place was about half the thickness of stock and it broke during installation. I will be purchasing a different brand next time. But the filter still sits in the slot and filters so it performs well.

Exactly. As long as it does the job that's all that matters.

Hopefully these will fit fine.

I don't know why our part stores here do not carry filters to fit our Versa's ... :(
I've never had an in-cabin air filter in any of my other cars, and I'm still breathing. I'm thinking that I'll just wait until the filter becomes hopelessly clogged and then just remove it altogether and not replace it. Aside from a little extra dust in the car, can anyone give a good reason not to do this?
I never changed it in my old car with 218k miles. I did go through 2 ac compressors. Maybe impeding the airflow causes stress on the compressor and or blower. For as cheap as they are and how easy it is to replace why take the risk. Plus mine was black and filthy after only one year. Think of the crap your breathing in if you don't change it.

That's why I changed mine. I'd like to breathe in some clean air ...
We breathe in enough crap here in steel-town as it is.
There has to be a company that produces a reusable in cabin air filter similar to the k&n

Reusable filters like K&N use oil to catch the particles. I don't want that oil in my ducts and such. Plus they don't filter out as well as these filters.

What is the reason you want a reusable filter? To create less landfill? To save money?
mainly to save money. I'm sure there's an oil that doesn't get into the cabin atmosphere so when you drive it doesn't smell like oil
If just to save money then reuse your OEM filter plastic surround and buy new filter paper at home depot :). I've seen people do this before. There is plenty of different filter media at the home improvement stores. I can get these filters for so cheap though I don't bother. I think you can get them as low as $10.
Yeah last time I ordered one online it was about 10$ so don't think you'd be saving much. I've been through about 3 already, due for another later this year.
Ya I got mine for around $10 with shipping to my door. I don't put that many kms on her, so one a year should suffice. Next summer I'll replace it again. I bought 3 so I have a couple extra at home.
I keep forgetting about that. I need to replace mine, where do you guys get them? I know I can look but am looking for recommendations
