Just do whatever makes you happy. Modding cars is a personal thing, your the one who has to live with it. So if you feel like it then sure its cool, to each their own.

When i think performance, i usually don't think of an automatic unless you need quicker shifting for the dragstrip or lapping. But if mods are for a little more luxury, i guess the auto doesn't matter so much...go for it! I think there is/was a BRM exhaust on CodeRed's Versa. YouTube it, sounds really good!
I also really like my wife's cvt Altima for more comfy ride, especially as a passenger, if that's what you're looking for

When most people think of modding, they think of performance, and while there is a small amount of extra power to be had, obviously the mr18/hr16 are not built to be hot-hatch power houses. Until we get the supercharger kit or somebody runs a turbo car, we won't see any significant numbers coming from the versa. However, there's a whole different side to modding that includes the looks of the car, how it handles, and how it feels to drive. Just do stuff that makes you proud of your car and make it original. That's what I'm trying to do to my car, because I know that when I first got I was thinking "safe, reliable transportation from point a to point b, but as I started modding it I made it my own and now I really enjoy getting in my car every day. Another reason I mod my car is that it gives me something to do with my free time and helps me keep my sanity (cause there's nothing to do around here) So if you're going to enjoy it, do it. If you wanna do it to have the fastest car on the block, buy a different car (that goes for anybody who might be looking at this post in the future)

This. It is possible that truer words have never been said. Especially the part about doing what makes you proud of your car.

Enjoying getting in my car every day... I dunno if I would go that far, mine pretty much lives in the garage. But the looks I get when driving, especially in the summer when I have my summer wheels on are awesome. Like "WTF... a Versa???" lol.

What you say about trying to add some luxury to it.... that sounds like a good idea, especially since with over 300,000 miles it sounds like you live in your car!:biggrinjester:

Thanks for the agreement. And the luxury thing is a good idea. Maybe get some inspriation from the tiida axis (I believe this is the upscale version sold in Asia, but somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.) Just gogle it and you'll see the pictures. Wood grain, leather, chrome, etc etc. I dont think its quite what you meant by luxurious, but I thought i'd throw it in there.
