Is it safe to route dash cam cables thru the interior, above the windshield and on the sides?

Also, does anyone have any tips on routing a cable to the rear? I want to stick a cam back there but I notice the trunk door hinge will get in the way. (I have a hatchback)

Around the windshield is ok, tucked up under the head liner. The outer edge of the A pillars is where the side air bag pops out. You may even see a logo about it there.

You can rout cables along the outer edge of the car by the molding and trim pieces from front to back. You can tuck the cable up under the headliner and through the rubber pipe they use to get it in the hatch area.

I have a sedan and use the lower outer edge to inside the trunk.
