From the Owner's Manual:

Silencing the horn beep feature

If desired, the horn beep feature can be deactivated using the keyfob.

To deactivate: Press and hold the (lock) and (unlock) buttons for at least 2 seconds. The hazard warning lights will flash three times to confirm that the horn beep feature has been deactivated.

To activate: Press and hold the (lock) and (unlock) buttons for at least 2 seconds once more. The hazard warning lights will flash once and the horn will sound once to confirm that the horn beep feature has been reactivated.

Deactivating the horn beep feature does not silence the horn if the alarm is triggered.

I have mine to honk when I lock the doors. If I want it quiet (getting home late) I press the key fob lock with the door open, then close it

If the horn is on silence, the lights wont flash when unlocking. But the lights will flash if you hit the lock button. Give those steps a try^^^^ and if not, it might have to do with your keyless entry computer, or your BCM. I had an issue with the doors not locking at 20 MPH, and unlocking when the key was removed. Nissan found the BCM to be defective, and replaced it.

aha the 2014 has such a girly horn its a bit sad in my opinion. but yet I don't mind it! silence can be nice so I silence mine when I work the graveyard shift but other than that I leave it so I hear the beep on lock.

The sound is pretty girly, my wife doesn't mind it either. She calls her car Meep (from Phineas and Ferb), given the horn sound. She had loud Hellas on her last car, she hasn't ask for them on the Note ... yet.

The horn will also not sound if any of the doors are not shut all the way. I've learned that. This morning, the horn wasn't working I went around the truck (2015 Nissan Frontier) checked all four doors, all shut. I'm glad I found this I'll go back out later and try pressing both buttons at the same time!

Interesting, when we got our Versa the first thing I did was to disable the beep. Don't you think honking horn without a good reason is rude? It is meant for emergencies, do you consider arming your car security an emergency? It's a shame the car comes from dealership with this "moron mode" activated. There are expensive car alarms that chirp, which is OK. The cheap ones honk the horn and this is not OK unless you are a moron and want to disturb and scare people around you.

Most people are smart enough to have brains that tune out super short horn beeps.........................but apparently not all. Maybe they should never leave the house....................it's so scary out there.

I myself prefer oldschool-I toss the remotes into a drawer and never use them ever. I have no cellphone either.
