I used 215/45 with no problems so you shouldn't neither.

215 are a little wider than the 205 obviously. So the 205 would be a little stretched, depending on the height that is. The skinnier the tires the more you will feel the bumps so the ride quality would be decreased, not sure how that would effect performance and fuel efficiency but I'm sure it does. I'm no tire guru tho so maybe someone else in here with better knowledge can shine in.
