Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know getting medical info from the internet is frown upon, but I wanted to toss this out there to see if it can shed some light on my problems.

So, I got joint and muscle pain like arthritis and MS, but I test negative for both. The pain is weather related and I test off the charts for inflammation even under medication.

I ache more on a day before a big storm vs doing physical labor. These say high pain days I have terrible BO and my waste products stink as well. >:D Ha, ha, ha. This has to mean something. Urine is the same color as well as my crap, they just stink.

Protein drinks help with the pain, salty foods,NSAIDS, steroids and pain killers.

Ive seen arthritis doctors and first thing they look for is swollen finger joints. None here. Blood test come back negative. Infact they can not be any further negative making me suspect its a false negative.

Further movement makes the pain worse, sitting still helps. Pain just gets worse with movement.

Other blood test come back normal, liver, cholesterol, sodium, blood sugar, red cells, white cells, etc, etc, etc.

It was suspected I may have another muscular disease but its a grand to test if I have it and insurance wont cover it. If I test positive the only solution was physical therapy. :surprise

The signs and symptoms of gout almost always occur suddenly — often at night — and without warning. They include:

Intense joint pain. Gout usually affects the large joint of your big toe, but it can occur in your feet, ankles, knees, hands and wrists. The pain is likely to be most severe within the first four to 12 hours after it begins.
Lingering discomfort. After the most severe pain subsides, some joint discomfort may last from a few days to a few weeks. Later attacks are likely to last longer and affect more joints.
Inflammation and redness. The affected joint or joints become swollen, tender, warm and red.
Limited range of motion. Decreased joint mobility may occur as gout progresses.

or:

Osteoarthritis symptoms often develop slowly and worsen over time. Signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis include:

Pain. Your joint may hurt during or after movement.
Tenderness. Your joint may feel tender when you apply light pressure to it.
Stiffness. Joint stiffness may be most noticeable when you wake up in the morning or after a period of inactivity.
Loss of flexibility. You may not be able to move your joint through its full range of motion.
Grating sensation. You may hear or feel a grating sensation when you use the joint.
Bone spurs. These extra bits of bone, which feel like hard lumps, may form around the affected joint.
When to see a doctor

If you have joint pain or stiffness that doesn't go away, make an appointment with your doctor.

Causes

Osteoarthritis occurs when the cartilage that cushions the ends of bones in your joints gradually deteriorates. Cartilage is a firm, slippery tissue that permits nearly frictionless joint motion.

In osteoarthritis, the slick surface of the cartilage becomes rough. Eventually, if the cartilage wears down completely, you may be left with bone rubbing on bone.

I have both..........................you will learn to deal with them as there is NO cure. Yes, I hurt pretty much all the time and even more when cold fronts come in even in the summer. NSAIDS are your cheap friend but they require more the longer you take them and you MUST break off them in regular breaks to also get rid of the rejection buildup they do that also brings on more serious things like heart and blood vessel rupturing especially in stomach or gastric, good way to die in 2 hours when it happens and they can't figure out where you are bleeding from. Osteo runs in our family, Mom has it so bad the bone rubbing on bone then makes the bone signal damage and then it grows all out of whack to deform the joints, her fingers and feet look like they are off monsters.

Gouty arthritis like said is often weeded out if not big toe and it's crap, it can affect anything in lower body, I've been not able to walk for a month (achilles tendon section) over it. PROTEIN used there is a serious mistake, the urea that converts into gout crystals comes DIRECTLY from protein intake and the quickest way to get it if predisposed, eat a steak the day before and you got it in the next couple days guaranteed. Letting feet get cold at night the second fastest way to get a flare, slowing circulation then quits pulling off the urea out of tissues. Protein drinks are flat stupid, they stress the heart WAAAY too much for any benefit from the whopping caffeine which also tenses muscles up to pull harder on joints, how you think they help is beyond me, mental issue there methinks.

I still work on the cars and house but the length of time each time is much shorter and can't do it everyday any longer, I need a day or more for the pain to mostly go away so I can do it again.

Yeah, it does seem to be slightly related to diet along with weather.

No, toes are unaffected, but ankles at times feels like there is glass in them, glass on bottom of feet.

Ive broken my leg and foot not to mention dislocated my hip fubaring my leg so one is a few inches longer then the other. So far only one doc has picked up on that and the funny shoes he prescribed made me walk funny. I went back to regular shoes.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Any time bone gets injured it tries to grow back in an effort to heal. Unfortunately it often grows in a distorted way and why later with time bone injuries repaired that work fine, later then begin to cause more trouble when the bone builds up to mess with joint or other.

When it comes to gout at least there is no 'slightly' with diet, the protein effect is pretty much locked in place as the protein is where the urea comes from. You know it at first when light, it begins as a small sting that quickly grows much worse into solid pain. Allopurinol will take pretty good care of it but you must take the pills all the time, they only begin to work after a couple weeks and will not help it if you have it right then.

The NSAIDS................what I meant to get clear but didn't above.................they become less effective the more of them you take and the longer you take them..........at the last of my work history the company had me working habitual 14 hr. days and I was taking 12-16 of them a day at 200mg. and they basically were doing very little or nothing by then. Stopped using and went to other pain relief and later came back to them and much better result as long as I keep that in mind.

Went out this morning at 5A and rebuilt the ignition on one of the Focus cars, it began to miss quite badly on one cylinder, another free repair that cost me virtually nothing. Bad plug wire, I simply threw one in from the saved used set I had changed before after a wire ohm check showed infinity resistance on one. Why I often do not toss old parts, often they become the cores for a rebuild of some sort. Or torn apart to see how construction is laid out to then rig another to work where it didn't before. Did the same on coil connector to get a new $30 one for nothing too, those go bad on those cars quite frequently too. I had to graft in new pin plugs at maybe a cost of $1. Runs fine now.

My advice is to keep a food diary so you can look back for any correlations between certain foods and bad days. Also a neurologist told me aspartame will magnify pain you already have. Do a healthy doctor approved cleanse and then stick with natural and not processed foods. Also swimming is usually good for inflammation. It's exercise without body weight on joints.

Without a diagnosis, it's just trial and error until you find what works.

I'm in a similar boat. I have pain in every joint and muscle. I have extreme exhaustion, severe brain fog and I'm losing muscle. A neurologist sent me to a fibromyalgia doc. The fibro doc didn't think it was fibro but suspected MS. Brain scans have found no sign of MS. Sleep study diagnosis was Narcolepsy with cataplexy. But that isn't progressive and not pain causing, but I'm steadily getting weaker and hurting more. 15 years ago I did a full body off frame restoration on a car. Now my DRL mod on this Versa is still in the package. All I have to do is run an ignition +12V to the module. This heat takes what little strength I have in a few minutes. I've had my heart checked with echo and stress test and they say it's fine.

YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE ME!!!!! To make matters worse my 70+ year old mother choose to move in with me when my father her husband died. I told her she picked the wrong son to live with, but seems 90% of the time both of us had pains that was weather related.

After being septic this winter I havent been the same. Im loosing 4 lbs a week, which isnt a bad thing. I was 400 lbs too. :surprise I am finding diet is related. Ive been eating chicken egg burritos at wawa and they seem to help with pain and nourishment. I know they arent that healthy, but my mother passed away and she use to baby me doing all basic stuff like cleaning, laundry and cooking. I think it maybe cheaper and more convenient to let wawa cook for me.

For the most part I take a tylenol #4 in the morning to get out of bed, then later in the day after I eat an NSAID. Then later in the day if the pain comes back another tylenol#4 .

Interestingly, when I was in the hospital and got an iv of antibiotics I was pain free. Still had the lack of energy or ability to move at times and later the pain sensation came back a month later. I know being fat doesnt help, but I wasnt fat when this started and got worse.

What are the symptoms of Lyme disease?

Early signs and symptoms include fever, chills, headache, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, and swollen lymph nodes -- all common in the flu. In up to 80% of Lyme infections, a rash is one of the first symptoms, Aucott says.

Without treatment, symptoms can progress. They might include:

Severe headache or neck stiffness
Rashes on other areas of the body
Arthritis with severe joint pain and swelling, particularly in the knees
Loss of muscle tone or “drooping” on one or both sides of the face.
Heart palpitation or an irregular heartbeat
Inflammation of the brain and spinal cord
Shooting pains, numbness, or tingling in the hands or feet

I'll ask my doc to test for that. I knew of its symptoms, but reading your post, that does sound a lot like me. I'm more weak on the left side.

I paid for a lyme test, it was negative. I do not have the headache, spinal problems.

For arthritis I test more negative than the average person. Ive wonder if its a false negative?

I need to find something for the pain. I asked for more pills and the dr said I got to jump through all the hoops, visit the office regular to get my pills counted to make sure I am taking them as prescribed and not selling them, etc. I told him if green tic tacs worked Id buy a case of them. I do not need tylenol #3 or 4 and if he could prescribe or better yet fix the problem so no pain medicine is needed in the first place.

Im moving and its all me doing it. Outside of my day job I work at moving til midnight and wake up at 5am to go back to work. I can barely move and I walk hunched over like an elderly person. Went to see a doc hoping to get some pain or some NSAIDs to help me besides rest.

Doc who specializes in muscle, joint, connective tissue issues took a look at me and said I needed to go to the ER. I declined and asked for something under or over the counter at the local walgreens. He said I had to go back during business hours and started to give me the song and dance of how loosing weight will make me feel better. Ive been loosing 4 lbs a week for a few months now.

Before he went on his insult spree he did mention an infection can cause inflammation in your system. He said some people with arthritis actually have an infection some where in their system somewhere.

Anyhoo resorted to my next best pain killer, FOOD. Got 2 monster energy rehab ice tea drinks, cup of ice ant 2 egg and chicken burritos from wawa. After a half hour I felt a good 40% better. I had the same 6 hours later for an afternoon meal.

Ive made a day appointment for more pain medication or NSAIDs but I got to wait 2 weeks for that. :surprise
