Have a 2009 Versa SL hatchback. A month ago, the lower part of the cover of the passenger side mirror either fell off or was pried off by someone. Would it be possible just to fall off? Can I replace just the bottom half? Must I go to the dealer for this?

I am guessing it would be a dealer item. Why it would fall off I don't know. weird!!

Found out I can replace the bottom half of the mirror cover. The dealer wants $37 for it. Fair enough. I just don't want the sucker to fall off -- or, more likely, to be pried off -- again!

The manual seems to indicate that the door mirror base cover is removed
by prying it off. HOWEVER it's a one time use item and once removed it cautions not to use again.

Beneath the cover is found the 3 door mirror bolts the retain the mirror assembly to the door.
