I read some posts here with people speculating on doing a juke swap in the versa but they were older back when the car came out so I figure I'd ask new now that the juke has got some age. If you have a 6spd car to begin with... Maybe butcher the juke harness for extra sensors and swap ecu?

You can get the juke niesmo(SP?) with a manual and it should be a good swap. Seems on the nissan wiki page they all use the similar small engine. If you are going to swap for performance, why reuse the same guts vs an aftermarket fuel management? You know, larger injectors, more fuel psi and maybe even some forced induction.

My plan was to take the whole 2wd engine complete used engine with harness and ecu and mate it to the versa 6 speed or use the juke 6 speed and drop it in. The first gen juke DIG turbo was almost 200HP. That in a versa will outperform a b16

I entertained the idea of putting a j35 engine in a second gen honda insight and had a place willing to wire up a harness for a thousand bucks with 3 wires and a bunch of plugs. I basically needed to ground it and hook the other 2 leads to a starter like switch with a terminal for run and start. I would use the odyssey ecu.

I think price wise if you do not make it your dd its just cheaper and better to lease a nice vehicle thats already boosted, turbo or super charged to begin with. Lots of vehicles with plenty of hp for reasonable prices on the market.

If I bought one it would be a ksight. A first gen insight thats aluminum with a k20 engine and tranny. Those kick ass and still average 40mpg. >:D

It would come down to the juke is ugly af but has a great drivetrain. The b16 spec V is my alternative but that's not the best looking sentra. Also it seems the mr16 trans works in the versa with a 4.23 rear gear vs the versa 3.93. Just doing a juke trans and mr20 would wake the car up

I was gonna do something, but with the car being ten grand new its hard to cough up 3 grand for a turbo conversion as is not a whole drivetrain swap. I guess if you can get it at a deal and have a place to work at it. At least with the kswap on a first gen insight you got an all aluminum car, which is unusual and lightweight. Theres nothing really special about a versa or a sentra for that matter. At least the juke has the ugly car thing going for it, or is it an suv?

The juke is way too ugly for me. I'm more of a cube/XB kind of ugly lover. Honestly I'd drive a cube and do the same swap since its a overgrown versa but no 6 speeds. I could do the mr20 swap just like a versa even. I found a SL hatch for $3800 6 speed every option except nav. Found another one that's got the factory sport body kit for $5000 with a 6 speed and a juke 2wd 6 speed local for $5000 so you'd have 10k in it once you buy a donor car. Not bad for a car with p/w ratio of 10:1 almost 200HP in 2300 lbs getting 35mpg and nobody suspects a versa. That's assuming it could be done without needing anything but a donor

Well, working for Nissan should be a big help having access to all the manuals and being able to see those vehicles first hand to note bolt patterns, part numbers and specs.

This is my first nissan and I like a lot about it, but seeing the horror stories of the cvt models. Ive rented altimas and never liked them at least the 4 bangers.

07-10 Altima had a tsb on the 4 banger cvt to have us replace reduction gears and we were never able to successfully fix a single one. The only one I ever fixed the case halves leaked even after a 72 hour set up period so it got a unit also

But I do know the mr16 shares the 18 and 20 flywheel. Saw that in another catalog for upgraded performance parts so trans is the same meaning mounts work. Engine mount may need done mods. My only fear is wiring. Plumbing is a cinch and use juke exhaust have it welded up if needed to adapt versa cat back
