So after reading up on it and doing a ton of research, tomorrow my versa is going under the knife. I am using a short block from the mr20 and retaining my top end and all. The heads are the same, timing components, tranny basically everythiing but the block, crank and pistons. I will get some pics as we go. Should be all complete by end of day friday. Can't wait

Like i said fortunately for me i work in a dealer. The cost of a used long block and a new short block were so close i decided to go this route. I will take as many pics as i can. Work starts in a couple hours, engine will be here this afternoon. I am quite excited of course

We will see soon. Lol. I don't know if mine will react differently as I'm not changing anything but the block. My 09 has different coils than the 07 has. They are the same as sentra. But time will tell. She's on her way out now. Short block is here

your going to get a CEL for the first week or two, its an idle code. your RPMs will be between 1,200-2,000 at idle. the ecu has to get used to the new engine even if you clear the code itll come back so give it some time. if you run into that situation, what i did was drive it for a week, clear the code (itll turn back on after several miles driven), Then drive it another week and clear the code then it actually goes away and your RPMs will go back to like 800 or whatever the car idles at normally :thumb2:
Did you have your idle relearned at a dealer? It really sounds like you didn't. There is no reason the idle should be messed up at all besides that. If you used the throttle body off the 2.0 you would have needed it

Little snag this afternoon. It was pretty busy so we didn't get everything finished. Engine is in. Just the axles and exhaust and fluids. It'll be out tomorrow. I have tons of pics I'll post up when I have some time

unfortunately we have been rather busy. Still have to bleed the clutch and cooling system this afternoon and fire it up. Stupid running out of time. Fortunately I had an 11 maxima for a couple days, then an infiniti g25x for the weekend

Ok car is done. Perfect swap!! NO CEL!! NO idle issues. Like i said it sounds like you never had your throttle chamber programmed to idle correctly. Power difference is nice, but not amazing. Definately a lot quieter and nicer to drive
