Hey All,
Just thought I would share my good and bad news about my Little V.
After about 2 months of back and forth with my local dealership, Nissan has finally decided to come good, and admit my engine has a problem.
Yup, Piston Slap!...surprise surprise...
My car is an 07 V, and it only has 65,000 kilometers ( 41k miles ), and every ounce of maint. has been done at this dealer ( which was a big thing in their decision ).
The car has honestly been babied, but since the cold weather has arrived, I tell ya, when this thing starts up in the cold, it sounds like a freakin diesel truck!!!.....rattle clank knock!
And even after 9-10 minutes of warming up, it slaps like crazy under any kind of load. Eventually ( after about 15-20 minutes ), the noise goes away, but it is pretty bad.
it took alot of persuasion, but after a while, they buckled...I felt like I won the battle against " the man "....haha!
The dealer actually told me in about 300 Versa's they have sold, I will be the 4th engine they have done!
So here we go...I have my fingers crossed, that I get the "good" technician working on my car, and not the newbie, but we'll see.
Can i ask, if anyone else has gone through this type of fix, what have your experiences been. Any tips or advise to watch out for...once the new motor has been installed?
I hope by having the motor replaced, it does not cause an whole bunch of other problems, but I guess time will tell.
Anyway, if you have questions, let me know, and I will be sure to keep everyone updated on the progress of my situation!
thanks for reading
Cheers
