So monday I purchased a new 2013 versa s 1.6 5 spd. it had 2 miles on it when i drove off the lot and still had the shipping plastic on it. so far i am seeing an average of 35mpg mixed hwy/city. (20/80) I do have some not complaints but issues with the versa.
#1- the suspension seems hard and instead of suspending over bumps it seems to really "bump" any way to re-spring or re-shock and soften the suspension? (not interested in lowering!) avg pricing?
#2- also not that i will be doing it alot but at 80-100mph on highway with winds the car feels loose, too light for the road. are there sway bars that can be added to the versa to help stabilize the lateral movement? avg pricing?should i consider an aftermarket wing or just upgrade the suspension?
im new to cars. but not to trucks> im a land rover discovery owner and by necessity and DIYer when it comes to auto work.
#3- no tach on the versa s. not that i "need" it but it would be a "piece of mind" item. i have an obd 2 scan tool with live data and data recall, but it belongs to the rover which is a trail truck that requires constant monitoring on and off the trail as it is aging. how would i wire an aftermarket tach to the driver pillar? where does the signal for the tach originate? on the rover a tach pulse is sent from the back of the generator straight to the tach gauge in the cluster. but i know that this is not too common of a practice.
happy to see a large forum group with a common interest. i love these forums for the land rover where we share tons of information!
Also is there a factory service manual with detailed instructions for working on the 2013 versa s? where can i get it? is it free? in the rover world we have the facotry manual called the RAVE that is land rovers shop manual that their mechanics use it is highly detailed and no ower should be without it.
