New to us 2012 Versa S

Hi all. I purchased this car yesterday, with 90,000 miles on it. It's the lowest mileage one we've found, by a good 50,000 miles. It's very clean , inside and out. My wife recently totalled her 2015 Pathfinder and we are having difficulty finding new Minivans, which is what she wants (it really would be easier with the kids). To take the stress off of finding a van that seems to be a challenge (Toyota and Honda dealers both said they're not taking orders currently), we figured we'd get a inexpensive commuter car. We had discussed getting one before she crashed the Pathfinder anyway. I hope to learn a lot, I DIY a lot of stuff. I have my NV 2500 you can see in the pics as well as a 2013 Audi S6 and a 2003 Porsche 911. I do my own maintenance on all of them, as long as time permits. I've already gotten some advice on this forum and have been reading some threads and it seems to be a great, friendly and helpful forum. Looking forward to getting to know some of you.

Seeing as you do a lot of your own work, go to Nicoclub and download the Factory Service Manual.
The best free tool you can get for the car. There may be one for the NV as well!

Thanks Keith. Will do that for sure. Interested to see what it shows for a belt change. Seems somewhat difficult to get in there with my big paws. Not that it needs it right now, just something I noticed while peaking in there

I would highly recommend adding fog lights to the car if it is pre wired. It makes a really good headlight pattern almost perfect.
Makes the front end of the car look complete too.
To check if it is pre wired, run your hand down behind the headlights and feel for a wire/connector.

My commute car 200k and still going strong. But I don't have the crappy cvt tranny. Cheap parts and maintenance. Easy to work on. My only complaint is the axle shafts pior design. Too weak for the torque. Do not accelerate while Sharp turning or you will break the cv joint. I have AutoZone like free life time warranty tho and I fix them myself. Just change oil every 3/4 k and tranny trans every 30-40k

I concur on the axles, they wear out faster than any other FWD axle car I've had and mine not driven hard at all.

If OP car is CVT trans and fluid not ever changed do it NOW.
