NICO Shut me down. lol

Ok many of you know that I have been working on a site for a while. Well I was keeping people informed on NICO on the status and all that good stuff.

Yesterday I received an email from Greg (AZhitman - CEO of NICOclub) and he informed me that they deleted my threads that included the url and such topics relating. He offered me to work on their tech page rather than my own but I am only really interested in building my own.

Currently I am waiting to receive an email back from Greg to see if they would be interested in being sponsors and such, than vice versa for me.

Would you guys (NVF) like to be sponsors as well? I have already included a picture that I cropped from the banner linking people to the site, but haven't heard anything official from anyone yet. Please let me know asap.

As for the site it's running fine, I bought the domain name and am waiting for it to process (up to 3 days) but I will refrain from posting the link anywhere because I don't want to make enemies.

But back to the point. If you guys could get back to me as soon as possible that would be awesome. Also if anyone else would like to have something to do with the project email me ([email protected])

That's a shame man, I was looking for the link on NICO but couldn't find it until I read this thread. I think AZHitman just had a bad week or something, they are way too critical & uptight on that site when things don't go their way for a reason. That's NICO for you.

Nissan Versa Forums is an alternative to other Nissan enthusiast sites. Different forums can coexist with each other, it's similar to capitalism. You wouldn't want to be stuck with a single location to go, such as purchasing goods, just like going to the same site for information regarding a vehicle. The more choices, the better.

As far as your site goes, I wouldn't mind to be a sponsor for it. However, you'll have to take it up to Dave01978 about this situation since he is the top dog for that type of stuff. Send him a PM. Wish I could help you out more.

Thanks for your support man. I am cleaning up a few things right now on a new template. Trying to make it look more professional you know?

I will keep you updated. I have 2 jobs so the past couples days I have gotten a bit behind.

If anyone here has any tutorials they would like to post to the site that would be great.

It is in BETA mode now and I have a new layout and such that I will be adding really soon (working on it as we speak) and than I will finish the rest of the coding for the site.

Anyways the url WILL be VersaNation.com (purchased the domain early yesterday - takes 3 days or so to get). For right now the link is:

Thats what I did. But I did it in 2 seconds.

Once I add the new template and clean the site/coding up. I will make it all pretty.

Update:

Just received a reply from Greg (AZhitman) from NICO. He explained some things to me that completely make sense and I understand them 100%. He declined to be a sponsor for the VersaNation site mainly because I (VersaNation) have nothing to offer back to NICO which makes sense really in the long run.

Right now I am going to continue to work on VersaNation. I'm sure Greg will get back to me sometime tomorrow with more information on the tech page for NICO.

I will keep everyone posted on whats going on. Thanks for allowing me to post the updates.

not gonna lie i was a little skeptical about this at first but im growing very fond of the idea... site that you have posted earlier looks great and i think it will turn out very beneficial for our V owners

I have a feelings that some people also feel this way currently. I'm sure that once the site is complete and ready to go that people will change their minds. I'll keep you guys posted on whats going on.

Ok quick update for you guys:

The new template is being merged in with the other. I am cleaning up the code while transferring to the new template and I am also improving the navigation. The user system has been moved to the new template and has been improved A LOT. You now have the option to upload your avatar instead of linking it.

Please come register and set up your profile.

The tutorials page should be up soon. Maybe tomorrow or late Sunday.

Check it out and let me know what you think about the new template and how the pages look. There is ALWAYS room for improvement, and it might as well get suggested in the beginning rather than the end.

In order to get more traffic, create an original logo. Advertise it EVERYWHERE, let people know, create some commotion. Post your tutorial videos on YouTube with your website link. Once you get about 20 members, it will start picking up.

Do something that you think hasn't been done before or anywhere else. Be creative!

I'm hoping that people will be interested because it's something that hasn't really been done before. Its not just a basic DIY tutorial website where the Admin/Owner adds some book about a single mod.

Everything is going to be user submitted. That means that the more people who are registered and participating than the more people will benefit from the site. If we keep it at 20 members things aren't going to go so well. I am planning on releasing the site and letting people on Car Domain know (search for Versas,Tiidas, and Latios). Also I was gonna make some sort of business card and flyers to leave on peoples cars or hand out to the people driving them. Anything to help generate more users.

Also Ill probably change my name on the forums to VersaNation.com and will display the logo and link in the signature. As soon as the site is done I have a special sponsor idea that includes Bob from VersaSpeed if he is interested.

LOTS of ideas floating around. We will see which ones make it into the final product and which ones will have to wait till after the release.

News system should be up and running by tomorrow. Than Ill work on the tutorial section and so forth. I also have an idea for the logo. Just gotta get around to making it in photoshop. Also I have the BEST idea for the VOTM (Versa of the Month) for the site. Hopefully everything turns out as planned!

News System is installed now. There are some broken links but they will be fixed tomorrow.

Tutorial System will begin tomorrow if I can get the News System 100% done. Should only be a day or 2 until we can launch the site!

Good job man! Get the Versa name recognition out there so we become more popular like the Fit/Yaris & Scion guys!

Create a unique and original logo so you're the first guy to do a such website!
