nissan cvt drama
Have a tiida (aka versa) with cvt. Of late it takes forever to engage reverse even though it's selected.

Now today I actually have no reverse. Car just revs to 2krpm and does nothing.

I am confused! Cvt fluid was changed at 60000km car is now 85000km.

Can anyone help?

LIkely a bad shift solenoid, reverse clutch in the CVT, or the shift mechanism. can't say for sure without data-logging the problem.

let it warm up in neutral, put it in drive, then shift it down to reverse. It's possible the fresh gear lube is building up too much pressure, and getting clogged when cold. though that seems like a stretch with 25000km put on the new fluid, it should be pretty well broken in.

If you're still having issues, get the shift mechanism checked first, as that's the cheapest. It's possible the selector just isn't registering that you're selecting reverse, or the signal isn't making it to the solenoid for the reverse clutch.
