Holy crap... the Versa is 169.1 inches long... the Juke is 162.4, which is only a 8 inches longer than a Scion xA... this thing is gonna be tiny! And with 180+ HP it should be a mini rocket!

I had a feeling that it wasnt gonna be worth it. If it was bigger for the expected price range, I might have thought about it. I really like the daring new look that it has. Thats about the only reason why I like it. Cube and versa is still one of there better cars.......

I think I made a terrible mistake buying the Versa and not waiting another year :(. I'm assuming the fuel economy with be greater the the versa 1.8 and possibly better the versa 1.6. Having driven a turbo car before I know they get excellent mpg's if driven correctly.

I see no mention anywhere of a non turbo model. I wonder if just the single engine will be available.

Then again my V cost under $12k and this vehicle obviously will be bit more then that. Just the plain fact that it's made in Oppama instead of mexico let's you know quality will be far greater then that of the V as will price.

You gotta put it into perspective... the Versa's the entry level product in the Nissan lineup. There 2nd generation Versa is on the way. The Juke is a "premium" product that is meant to be take on the Mini Cooper/Clubman and from the specs, it'll certainly thrash it. The Mini is one of my dream cars, but it's absurdly difficult to afford: premium gas, premium insurance rates, $100.00 oil changes through Mini dealers, etc..

Juke w/ 180+ HP = 20K
Mini w/ 119 (?) HP = 20K

Juke = WIN

Rob,

I posted this on the other Versa forum. The way I came to own my Versa was this:

I followed a GT-R into a Nissan dealership. After drooling over the GT-R, I decided to see if they had any info/advance brochures on the Juke. No one at the dealership was even aware of its existence. Then I saw my Versa sitting on the showroom floor. The guy "pressured" me into driving a Versa and I said yes, since I had 2 hours until my next class. The next thing I know, they're asking me what it would take to get me into the car... since I had ZERO INTENTION of buying a new car, I threw out an absurdly low number. Like, absurdly low. They came back with counter offers, to which I said no. Then as I was about to walk out, the sales manager said: "If we honor your offer, you must sign now."

So I jumped on the phone, got approval from my mom, went to class, came back and bought my Versa!

Sticker: $15,460
Mine: $12,300 + free spoiler (3.9% APR @ 24 months)

AND... the sales manager promised to give me back "most of my money" if I decide to buy the Juke in October! Not sure if he'll actually honor that, but I love my Versa and will keep it for at least 3 years. That'll give the Juke time to iron out its first and second year problems.

Not a bad price indeed. APR is high, but good price!!! :)
If we could get a brand new one here for that cost, I'm sure my dad would even buy one as a DD.

Here you go gang, the press release. I've been working behind the scene on this vehicle for a couple months and I think when done the styling will look better after I'm done playing with it...think "low...wide...fast". From what I understand is pricing will start under twenty thousand and go from there.

Nissan has officially debuted the new Juke “Sport Cross” compact crossover at a private event on the eve of the New York Auto Show. The new Juke model has bizarre and controversial styling that doesn’t need to be explained, but several other features of the vehicle are worth a mention. For starters, the car is the first Nissan product to feature gasoline direct-injection and turbocharging, helping it deliver 180+ hp and 170+ ft-lbs of torque from a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine. Also of note is the high-tech torque-vectoring all-wheel drive setup, that can not only distribute power 50:50 front to rear, but can split the power between the rear wheels.

Both a six-speed manual transmission model (FWD only) and a CVT transmission will be offered. Other highlights include Nissan’s new I-CON system, with a controller for the climate control system that also doubles as a selector different driving modes. Drivers can choose from an Eco model, Normal mode and Sport mode, each of which will adjust the throttle, transmission and steering response settings.

Additional features (standard and optional) include leather seats, a backup camera, Nissan’s Intelligent Key with pus button ignition, navigation, a power moonroof and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

Its just the front that kills it.
completely agree
i LOVE the inside but the front kills it for me. and i don't like that its smaller than what i have now.

i will, though, head up to the dealership when it comes in and give it a test drive. i am very curious to see how it drives.

(i'll probably be in love with it after a test drive :wink5: )

nissan juke official site

I can't beleive the turbo engine is standard as well as CVT. The 6spd is an option. There is no base model with this car. Since so much is different in spec's that has been stated like engine choices then I'm hoping the transmission choices are also different in the US. 6spd, AWD, versions would be an awesome option.

I'm so freaking excited. Not just for this particular vehicle but the possibilities of turbo engines in other nissan products.
