Nissan Note vs Versa Note

Just an observation, apparently there was a version of the note that was a MPV. This vehicle had some very interesting options such as: an air conditioned glove box, sliding rear seats, and under seat compartments. While I love my Note, I can not understand how simple things such as these items are left out. I could imagine that this would increase sales, as storage in any form is an added benefit. Any Europeans here that have knowledge of the Note MPV firsthand, I would love comments.

When I purchased my vehicle, I had intentions of buying the divide and hide option. Looking at the overall price of a piece of plastic as being 200$, I decided to wait. I am shocked at what they get for these things, and wondered if I could replicate the piece using plywood, and some carpet remnants. If any one has this as an option could you provide the measurements?

I'm a new Note owner myself and quite curious about your comments. Wikipedia (Nissan Note) has a fairly extensive coverage of the Note and its history since it came out although it does not go into much detail about content like AC cooled glove box, etc.

Keep in mind that the Versa is an entry level vehicle in the USA and as such Nissan has to keep the price down, which means reducing content. In other countries, this is not so and they can price for such extras. From my point of view, since I'm from Michigan, I'd rather have variable intermittent wipers on my SV than a cooled glove box.

I'm sure you can replicate the Hide/Divide option with plywood. If you are handy enough to build one, I think dimensions can be easily taken from the rear trunk area floor itself. I decided against it after I got the cargo mat with my car and have my back half windows tinted.

Thanks for your response. Above are some links to more information. In the first link you will see the panoramic roof, and the YouTube link shows the older Note with the other features.

Good links.

You probably have seen this UK video on the 2013 Note:

It shows a sliding rear seat similar to the older version.

Wished they have the Diesel engine option in the US though.

or at the very least the 3 cylinder supercharged engine that the JDM market gets
While the divide and hide is a rip at $200, it makes the car more usable and makes up for the small trunk. It allows me to stash small crap out of the way without feeling like I'm losing space. It also is the same height as the folded seats, which is great for big or long items. Making one of wood is totally doable if you have the time and tools.
I think that is my primary purpose behind my post. I can not comprehend why these are all not available in our market. If not straight from the factory, at least as an aftermarket solution. I continue my search, and still find the options very limited.

On the Nissan UK web site it shows a Note with a luggage rack as an option, yet there is not one source that can reliably show it for our Versa Note. I am now widening my search to include Nissan Note in all my research, as the body is identical.

Again I thank everyone for your responses, good to see that the site is still getting some traffic.

I agree the factory pricing is high, although I got it as part of a package which made it less painful. That said, it is really usefull.

Yes, yes, and yes
or at the very least the 3 cylinder supercharged engine that the JDM market gets
Yeah! That would be sweet.
