Mines noisy in cold weather too. It seems to have a faint whine noise going thru the RPMs, but once it warms its fine. Its my 2nd winter with it, and its the same as last yr, so I call it normal.

Mine seems kinda noisy on cold starts. Like since it's getting cold out (32* this morning) and seems noisy in the car but if you open the window it's quiet. Then about 2 or 3 miles down the road it's back to normal.

We have been hitting some low temperatures too this week (right now about -9C); and I think with any type of cold weather like this that all cars will be a bit noisier at start up. The engine needs to warm up before it will sound quieter.
Could possibly be just the oil and filter's you are using. Car's tend to make more noise when very cold at startup, especially vehicles with timing chains.
Wixx filters and some good synthetic might quiet it up some more.

mobil 1 5w-30 sythetic and pureolator filter.
decent quality parts and oil right there so probably not the issue. It's almost impossible to diagnose this over the internet. It could be anything from busted timing chain tensioner, to loose heat shield, to perfectly normal. Goodluck.mobil 1 5w-30 sythetic and pureolator filter.
Well, it's not loud. I didn't have this car last winter so I didn't know what the vehicle sounded like when it was actually cold outside.

engine is trying to warm up to get to normal and then the RPMs drop to normal too.
if the RPMs don't drop to normal 800RPM or whatever... then it is not normal
