Hi all, I own a 2010 1.6(base model, no radio) sedan and I'd like to install an S model headunit. Any good/bad reviews?

I guess any head unit would be better than what you currently have ;)

I have the SL, so I can't comment on the S head unit.
I have an aftermarket headunit but I prefer OEM quality. Would an SL work in my 1.6?
I would assume it would work. You just have to wire it in properly.
it would work.... i recently replaced my s model headunit with an alpine though and the alpine is 40x better sound quality
mna i had one let it go to cal for 40bucks plus shiping look into a junk yard im looking for some versas now cuz i want to stock up on some parts if i need then if something comes up
I have yet to see a Versa here in our junkyards.
the S and SL are both plug n' play. I have the S radio and I love it. Wish I had an aux in though. I would have grabbed an SL but people wanted too much for them.
Whats an aux?
^ like ipod hook up so u can play music from zune or something
Thanks for the info guys. I should be getting an S headunit in a couple of days. :wiggle:
Is the SL radio price justifying your decision not to purchase it?
I wanted a S or SL headunit but I didnt wanna pay the dealership price. I've seen a few used headunits but they're all S.
I prefer the look of the OEM units myself. To me it looks cleaner ... but that's my personal taste and preference.

I saw the stock in dash navigation today on a Versa in the showroom. It looks okay, but it's not that big so it kind of looks cheap. If I wanted an in dash navigation then I would consider aftermarket.

I agree. I went to Nissan this morning and saw a 2010 SL hatch with navigation/bluetooth, thats not my taste...as long as it looks neat and sounds good, Im happy. :16:
i cant stress enough how much better my alpine is than my oem.... even with the crap stock 20w speakers

I have the bluetooth and love it, but I have a nice GPS so I don't need to upgrade to the Nissan navigation system that they offer.

My stereo right now is perfect. I have the 6 disc cd changer, and built in satellite radio, so I'm not changing it anytime soon. Works great as is.

by getting rid of your aftermarket and going to oem...you are sacrificing sound quality...js
