Hi everyone, first time poster. I just found this group, looking forward to being a Versa owner.

I ordered a 2022 new Versa S with manual transmission in June. It made more sense than buying used; prices and mileage are both high with local offerings.

Has anyone else ordered a new Versa this summer? I’m wondering if 2022s are still rolling off the production line. Any guesses how long I might be waiting?

Very cool and a wise move on your part IMO. I wondered what the process would be like trying to acquire one of these ~$16K Versii.

Did the dealer give you a hassle over wanting a base model 5MT?

If you don't mind me asking, did you wind up paying MSRP? (still a relative bargain for today)

I know build/wait times are all over the place. Have you gotten a ballpark time estimate?

I was doing some U-toob video watch'n on these base model 2022 5spd versas a week or so ago. I was trying to convince my 20yr/old daughter to trade her base model 2015 Versa (w/ 4AT as opposed to CVT) in for one of these, but I think the 5MT scares her. I could teach her in a day.. She is fairly frugal which is a great thing and isn't even tempted to go new at the moment.

Keep us posted! For the price, you can't do any better. I think the newer 1.6L has direct injection now, but coils, plugs and all your basic maintenance looks like a snap. The oil filter is in a better position than the earlier 1.6's even.

First post! Been trying to locate a 2022 5sp Versa without luck...dealers up here have no idea what's coming their way until a shipment notice is rec'd. Not a lot of dealer swapping either. Put a down payment on a 2023 5sp Versa (Fresh Powder) last week...build request sent to Nissan but no build info yet...but if a 2022 arrives before the 2023..I'm 2nd in line for it. A 2023 might wind up being a Christmas present!

Just curious what area of NY you live in..

Keep us posted on how the process goes. I'm in my 50's and have never officially ordered a vehicle. I started the process two different times many years ago, but wound up backing out when I found what I wanted on a lot somewhere.. I used to look forward to selling/trading and getting a new to me vehicle every 2-3yrs when I would find a great deal on a dealer lot. I dread this new normal BS.

Will do..I'm in my 70's and this is my first new car order. It's appears buying a new one is less expensive than buying a used one of the same model. I'm a Chevy guy but the Spark will no longer be produced which leaves me with the Versa...but the more I research the Versa..the more I like it. The Chevy Spark looks more like a roller skate. I'm in Champlain, NY about 500 yards from the Canadian border.

I think my odds of getting a 2022 are a little less than 50-50. I might get a Thanksgiving present!

I went from a Ford F-150 work vehicle to a Spark work vehicle. It’s all right but is very cheap. Sun visors are the worst I’ve ever seen. I was looking for used but the new Versa seems a better deal.

There's a few posts floating around here in regards to slave cylinder issues and maybe a throw-out bearing problem or two with the Versa 5spd. These are built to a price point. Hopefully things are all good with them for the long haul.

Like anything else, it's very doubtful it's built like MTs were decades ago.

Like most newer MTs, the transmission has to come out to access the slave cylinder..

I see that a dealer in Vermont has a selection of 2023 vehicles 'In Transit" but no Versa's. Not sure where those models are assembled...the Versa is made in Mexico.
The first three characters of every VIN number uniquely identify the manufacturer of the vehicle. This is called the World Manufacturer Identifier or WMI code.
1-5North America1, 4, 5 = United States
2 = Canada
3 = Mexico

Manual is the only way to go with this engine. I mean....it's still slow as hell...and the gearbox feels like you're shifting into oatmeal...

But I maintain that the worst manual transmission made is 10X more reliable and 10X better than a 'good' automatic all day long.
my 88 ford escort manual had almost 300,000 miles..still worked..we know what we are buying..basic transport..not 6L V8 TURBO..noone expects rocket speed

Contacted the Nissan website asking for any "2023 Versa updates" nothing! They don't even have 2023 brochures yet, no info related to the Aguascalientes, Mexico plant status etc. Kinda like a secret:) They referred me to their "official news" website...which has no news.

I researched all dealers over the US for about a month before finding my 22 Versa SR (in transit), grey with convenience package. Came in first of April. At the same time found an orange 22 SR for my wife with convenience & 2 lighting packages (Also April). Picked up hers on 4/2 & mine on 4/4. I paid sticker, she paid a little bit more. Half of the dealers said they could NOT place an order & half said they could. 4 to 5 months is what I was told to order & receive (but no one was sure of the timeframe). But all said they put in their orders months ago BUT Nissan sends them whatever they get, not necessarily what a particular dealer ordered. Very happy with the purchase & the car (my 3rd versa). I only have 2200 miles on mine but the wife already put on 10k miles.
