I like to put in larger oil filter.

The specs for the Fram 7317 is the same, except it is larger, but only by about 20-25%.

Is there any filter larger still that will fit? What is the largest commonly available that will fit?

The larger filter will have more medium and will go longer.

The thread, gasket size, check valve and by-pass pressure will have to be the same and for the last nearly the same.

Fram part number 2849A may fit well enough.

The gasket inner diameter is 2.47 (2.27 for 6607) outside 2.75 (2.53 for 6607).

Length 4.92 inches. With anti-drain, relief 12 psi (13 for 6607).

I think this one will fit well. I can change filter every other time I change the oil.

I realize this is a somewhat older thread but I figured this information might help someone else out.

I am using the Baldwin B1431. It is a longer version of the Baldwin B1400 which is the exact replacement size oil filter.

The B1431 is that exact same size and specifications in all respects as the B1400 and stock OEM oil filter with the EXCEPTION of being 4 inches long verses the B1400 being 2 5/8 inches in length.

For those who also own Honda vehicles the Baldwin B1402 will also work which is a replacement for the Honda 15400-PLM-A01 and 15400-PLM-A02 OEM oil filters.

Baldwin make EXCELLENT filters of all types and if you buy them by the case at BF Web Express, the cost is substantially reduced.
