...how does it come off?

I am in the process of getting a new GPS and I want it to the left of the windshield. The panel above the radio comes off easily enough but the one above the instruments is more of a problem. It comes up to the right of the instruments but refuses to budge to the left - by the side of the car.

Should I just be more confident and just give it a big old tug or am I missing a bolt or something? Any help would be gratefully received before I bugger something up.

In the service manuals you can see how to take it off. It's a little unclear though. Are you doing this to wire the cable into the fuse box? I did this on mine and just ran it down the door to the left behind the rubber molding. After the cable gets off the dash you can't see it anymore even with the door open.

Thanks Ben. I have some 12v outlets in the cubby hole thing above the radio so my plan is to go from the side of the car and under the two panels. As I can only get about 3/4 of the panel up the cable sort of dives down about four inches from the side - I'm hoping to be able to do a bit better once this panel is up.

At least I know that it can be done now - thanks for your help.
