New to the forum. Just picked up a 2012 Versa Sedan SL. Hoping to see what other folks are doing with their Versas. Just wondering if this is suppose to be like this--- see the hole in the parking break with the screw sticking out.

looks like a plastic tab that covers the screw is missing, but don't quote me on that

that is the adjustment screw. I'm not sure if there was suppose to be a cover there or not. I've seen older, easy on the wallet cars set up this same way. Hopefully someone else with 2012 can chime in and answer for you.

I have S trim level and mine is just the same. Not too pretty, I know. Nissan made lots of cuts to get the price as low as possible, but many of them just shocked me after I drove one home, like no key lock on the passenger side ( what am I going to do when driver door freezes in winter ). No trunk lid relese by driver seat but my biggest disappointment is cvt. Soon I think, I will open new thread just about that.

If the no keyhole bothers you that much you can ad power locks. There are kits that are fairly cheap for this. Older Versa's had the actuators built into the doors. I don't know if the 2012 sedans are the same.

The trunk lid thing is rather annoying as I never realized how many times I need to go into the trunk with the car running. I was thinking of switching the handle for the gas lid pop to open the trunk. I think I can rig it up somehow.

Power door locks and trunk lid release should not be too of a big deal to install (installed power door locks before), however it is a time consuming. I will think about it in spring time. Thanks for good suggestion. About 30-50 $ will buy me a set on e-bay.

All Nissans with handbrakes have holes like that. It allows adjustments to the tension of the parking brake cable. I've never seen any cover hiding that bolt.

The "no key hole" on the passenger side isn't a Nissan thing. Most car makers are doing this...my dad bought an '07 Dodge Ram last night and it doesn't have a key hole on the passenger side either, same with a 2012 Hyundai Accent we rented last month.

I did not intend to say that it is a Nissan thing but a cost saving move . I know lot's of companies are doing that these days. How did you like new Hyundai?
