Hey everybody, Im thinking of getting some upgrades on my 2011 versa HB and I want to get windows tinted (30%), and alarm w/ remote start. I got a dealer quote of 600 with parts & labor and I was wondering if that was a good price or if I should continue looking around. I got similar quotes of 650 elsewhere but I'd prefer to have the work done at the dealer because of the coverage on the work plus they work with the Versa's often...what do you guys think? is the price good or should i keep looking?

is that with the tints? tints should be ~100, n the alarm w remote start i think cost about 170ish, so if labor to you is worth ~300, go for it, caz right now i wish i had remote start

yeh on my receipt the tints were 200 as well and the rest pushed the cost up a bit more, but I rather have the dealer do it for the piece of mind in terms of warrantee and IF i chose to sell the car, i feel i can highlight the fact that the work on the car isnt from some fly by company but the actual dealer.

that's a good point, especially if you don't know or trust any shops around your area, the dealer is the best place to go

Most tint shops are pretty good though and usually the dealer sends your car to one of those places. And the majority of tint shops offer a lifetime warranty on the film as well. Either way, through dealer or on your own, it would be fine.

I know a few tint guys and that just travel from dealer to dealer doing new cars and I know they are in the $200 range for a versa.

hey, thanks everyone for the feedback. yeah i really love my new ride...its my 1st car and I find myself constantly looking at possible mod's...hopefullly I can put in a few. Right now i just have tints, remote starter, and alarm system on my HB 1.8S. Ill try and get updated picks soon, the car is at home but I go to school in NYC so i go home to visit my V on weekends...its not at school now since parking is $$$$ and i dont really need it at daily just yet...soon i will tho.
