RECALL: speedometer / odometer

Did anyone else get the notice in the mail? Just received mine for my 2009 1.6 but it said the recall included the 1.8's. As many of us already knew (several threads on it) the speedometer is off in the Versa's. Well this causes more miles to rack up on your car prematurely. The letter said to just call my local dealership to make an appointment to have it fixed.

So did anyone else get this? I will post more info when I have the letter infront of me.

Never received anything about this recall. Maybe mines not affected? Not sure.
Keep us posted.
Is it all models or just 07-09?
Nope, didn't receive anything. Is it only for the '09s?
Oh man, now I'm kind of afraid of checking the mail to see a possible recall letter.
I have an 09 and my speedometer was off but I fixed it with slightly bigger tires its right on now :) but I have not received a letter yet.
Nothing yet and I have a 2009 1.8. Maybe I'll give the dealership a call.
nothing here yet. all I got back then was stuff about upgrading my auto warranty but that was back then, now that they know I have 121,000 miles I don't get anything.

all I get is you're pre-approved for a new loan to trade my car but as of right now, based on my high mileage, I'm better off drive this thing to the ground and get my money worth and have no car payment as long as the Versa gets the job done

Absolutely, hopefully the Versa stays going for many more miles.

I hope for the same thing!
The car has a horrible resale value, I've already tried trading it in ... only 3 payments left though! Yay :woot:
I've noticed the resale value. Upon graduation this May with my MBA, I already have a job lined up. This salary will allow me to upgrade my car to something in the 30-40K range. Thinking a 2013 Camaro SS, but will still keep the Versa.

Did this via mobile so hopefully you can read it.

I also have larger tires now and because of that my speedo is much more accurate. It makes me not want to get this done. I'm currently at 117k miles. I wonder what I would be at if this was correct when I bought the car new in 09.

There is nothing on the government sites. The only recall for the 2009 is on the Garmin nav system and that was in 2010. IF this is so then it would be a voluntary recall on the part of Nissan.
Most likely voluntary as there really is no harm to be had from an inaccurate speedo. Either way I got this letter from corporate. I'm expecting some of you will receive the same letter.
I hope to, I want mine fixed if it is affected.
Are we talking something like this?

That video shows exactly what this is talking about. I have a post on here where I took what gps calculated as 160 mile trip but my odo showed it taking several more mile. I forgot all about it until my new gps app gives me a readout of mph and my speedometer was off just like in the video. Then I got the letter. Ironically the new tire size i have almost corrects the issue lol.
That sucks it's only for the 09-11. Of course I haven't noticed anything similar on my 07 yet. Makes me wonder though, I will have to check it out further.
just talked to my nissan friend. He said the campaign is p2508 for the 2009-2011 Versa C11 chassis. So if your calling might want to include that that number.
Thanks for the info!
