Replace Rear Wiper Blade?

I had to give up on this for fear of breaking the thing. I just pulled the old blade strip out from under the plastic arm and swapped in the new one. The old plastic arm is still attached as I never did get it out. That bolt didn't loosen anything that I could see and I didn't like the idea of tearing out more stuff just for a blade. Nissan really wanted us back to the dealer for these blades didn't they!

A couple of days ago after reading this post i tried taking mine out and it came out very easily. Similar to changing out a front wiper.

How did you get it out? When I pull my rear wiper blade arm forward it only goes so far before it stops. Pulling it further it creaks and felt like it'd break if I kept pulling it. However I have had the rear hatch replaced so who knows maybe someone over tightened something when they put everything back together.
I think I'm scared from owning my last car a ford lol everything I touched on it just fell apart. Making me less confident about being too aggressive with this car just in case I break something.

I changed mine, and I had the same problem. So I took out the insert and swapped it with one from autozone.

That's exactly what I had to do! I had to give up in the end and just put the rubber blade in leaving everything else as it was. It shouldn't be this hard to replace you'd think?

Yeah I figured it would be a piece of cake, but I thought I was going to break it when pulling. I didn't even need to change it. But, I wanted all the wipers to be new lol. I need to buy ahead of time when the sales are going on.

So is it just a lift and pull? nothing comes out easily? Wasn't very clear how to remove the rear wiper blade >.< Thanks for bringing this up i think i have to swap mine out soon

Lifting feels like it'll break. I removed the nut but the wiper arm didn't seem to want to come away easily. For the sake of not doing damage I just pulled out the actual rubber blade and slid the new one in. Mine had to be replaced it was falling apart, was the original blade 2.5 years it'd been on.
Replacing the rear wiper blade is difficult if you have never done this before, but super easy after doing it once. First I would recommend buying the replacement blade. Seeing how it is made will help you to visualize how the old one comes off.
IMPORTANT: the rear wiper holder is made differently that the front ones. Be sure to buy a direct replacement such as the Trico 14-D or search E-bay or Amazon.
Now the hard/easy part.
1. Lift the wiper arm only 2-3 inches.
2. Push the blade assembly forcefully away from you toward the rear window and slightly towards the driver side. Use 10 to 20 pounds of force. The blade is held on by snap clips angled toward the driver side.
3. Snap the new wiper in place.
