Just purchased the new Versa S 5sp 1.6
Since there is no tach does anyone know how many rpms we turn at 70 mph in 5th
Really sounds like it is winding out

What year is your versa?
I have a 5speed manual with tach and its around 3.5-4K. And yeah, it sounds like it can use that extra gear. I wish the manuals were all 6speed.

Brand new 2012 1.6 with 5 speed
You can shift into 5th at 35mph with out problems really could use the 6th gear but thats why they charge extra for the CVT
Nissan doesn't want a 6sp manual getting better mileage then there CVT
This is true. I plan on swapping my 5speed out for a 6speed once it gets older and parts become more affordable...like Frenchy Chan's husband did with his Mazda3.
3400 rpm @70 mph in 5th gear. Just checked.
I still don't get why the hell they would sell a manual without a tach, I would never buy a car without a tach.

Thanks for checking
