Hey guys,

What are is your opinion on rust proofing? I wash my car fairly often and I don't want to spend the money if it ends up getting washed away....

If you wash your car fairly often, then you shouldnt need to get it. Just wax the car every 6 months and you'll be fine!
I think I told you at the meet that I had it done at the dealership when I purchased it. It came with a 10 year warranty :)

My previous car I had rustproofed at Lubricare here in Hamilton. The car was used (3 years old) and my dad had it rustproofed for me. We traded it in at 7 years of age, and no rust.
Rust proofing helps out a lot. I got mine done at Krown. Its better to get it done in the warmer months so that it absorbs into the metal more effectively than in the winter. So by the time spring comes next year, salt won't eat away at the metal when the temps warm up.
Hm, I wonder what the dealership charges. I don't think that warranty would apply anymore because its been over 6 months. I'm hoping to drive it to the ground and would hate to see rust beat the versa
I have no idea what they would charge. It was included for me because I extended my warranty to 7 years. If they didn't do it for me, I would have gotten it done elsewhere. I don't want my Versa looking all rusty in a few years.

Do they respray rustproofing each year or was it that one time when you bought it?
They did it before I picked her up. So one time. But the dealership gave me a 10 year warranty with that. So if any rust begins to form within that time they will fix her up. However, I think in a year or two I may go have it done elsewhere again. Just to recoat her. I don't want her to rust.

Ah ok because I wouldn't think 1 application of rustproofing will cut it for the life of the car. I was offered the electronic rustproofing when I was getting my V, but I didn't bother cause its bogus.
Ya I think in 2 or 3 years I'll get it done again (but not at the dealer). I would have gotten it done regardless when I bought it. I probably would have gone elsewhere to get it done had it not been included in my warranty. Plus they gave me 10 years on it ...
My dealer wanted to charge 400+tax for rust proof. I didn't want it.
Today, I checked with Krown.
FYI, Krown's rust-proof warranty is lifetime for new car but your car must be purchased within 6month of production date (check driver door).
How much does Krown cost?

I went with the dealer because it was included in my warranty. The rust proofing is covered for 10 years through Nissan.

BTW, you coming on Sunday?
Krown charges 119.50+tax, and should be done every year.
