Functional? Dont think so. Visual? I've heard of a few ppl cutting theirs. They look good too. I would like to get one but I dont know if its a safe mod. :(

Cutting it doesn't make it a short-shift. If anything it is less functional because (in theory) when driving your hands are on the wheel and the closer the shifter is to the wheel the quicker you can be.

I believe there is a short shift kit out there, I can't remember where I saw it though. Possibly on microimage or versaspeed.

short shifter makes the shifts shorter. Basically you don't have to move the gear knob as far, making the shifts quicker and requiring less effort

Cutting the shifter knob doesn't make it any better, especially the maybe 3 inches you will be able to shorten it. The shifter is as long as it is for a reason.

Cutting the shifter in a versa would make you much slower on a road course. 2" is a lot lower to move your right hand. Even a short throw shifter for a versa if made, would likely be stock length

There's no noticeable difference when I cut it. And you cant really make this car any slower anyway.hope someone will make a short throw for this car but most likely wont because its almost pointless

I emailed TWM today about if they are interested in making one, a member on cubelife said TWM is not interested but I thought it was worth a shot. If the short shifter fits the Cube and the Versa. They have quite a group of people to market for one.

Here is some info I found a cube forum -

short shift kit - Nissan Cube Car Forums

Here is another thread on NICO from racingline that fell through -

Racingline Short Shift Kit : Versa Engine, Drivetrain and Tuning

I know on my 200SX (B14) a NX, Maxima, and Altima shifter fits that car [similar years]. I would like to see if any other cars would be comparable with the Cube/Versa shifter since they are cable shifters and fwd.

Alright guys, I just PM'd the Vendor of racingline over at Nico about finishing up the prototype they started. I will let everyone know what I hear from both places. Stay tuned.

I very much want to get a short shifter made for this car! My next step is to contact B&M shifters or other manufacturers that can produce one for us. We may need to get enough people interested in buying one before a company will produce one. If I can get a company interested in making one I will start a thread about it. This maybe our only chance guys.
