Hey guys, I have a 09 Hatchback S and just installed the OEM SL radio... however, I when I try to load CDs all I get is a mechanism error that tell me to push eject.

Any ideas how to get around this? Thanks!

wow idk thats a good question. was the SL radio good before you installed it
not sure about the problem I only have a S single disk radio but welcome to the forum, this is the place to find the answers.
Thanks guys... I bought my Versa a couple weeks ago and have been using the forums for some stuff, I couldn't find an answer for this so I decided to join up.

And I'm not sure, I bought it from someone used. They said it wasw working fine, of course. :confused5:

Also to clarify the display actually says "MECHANISM ERROR" then after a while will change to" PUSH EJECT"
error message.

well i have had my 09 SL for about 16 months now and used the 6 disk changer pretty much daily and never seen that error.

that sucks, I have no clue
it sounds like the changer is damaged or a part inside is broken

Did it work before after the installation was complete?

ohh,
at this point I would disconnect the battery, just disconnect the black wire, and wait a few minutes, then connect the battery again.
maybe it needs a reboot like a PC, but like I said, not 100% sure what's causing it
Bingo!

I think I would still disconnect the battery to reset the computer so that way the cd changer wont' still think there's a cd inside the changer
i agree with BluV and saldy if that doesnt work theres always the dealership and see what they say. but they always have negative things to say. maybe also try talking to the previous owner
Sorry if this seems like a somewhat stupid queston but did you hit the eject button and slowely try to eject a cd out of all 6 slots? Does it make any whirring/clicking noises when trying to eject a cd with no cd installed? Finally before install was there any noises from the unit like somebody sticking change/coins/fod into the cd mechanism?
I have an S sedan, and put the SL 6 disc in my car, and I don't have any problems. That defiantly sounds like a radio problem, and I would consult with the person you bought it from.
i have same problem with my Versa and Tiida both are 6 CDs, i think it caused by removing the battery, hope get the solution soon and will share it.
This just happened to me. For 5.5 years it was working fine, then we change her battery, and suddenly I'm getting the same MECHANISM ERR message!
