My 2007 Versa CVT will suddenly lose speedometer function (shows zero mph) and RPM's have to increase to maintain speed. This happens every mile or two. Oddly, I can immediately restart the car and everything runs fine until it repeats,...again. Restarting it ALWAYS resets the problem. I replaced the obvious, the fuel pump and speed sensor. While these things needed to be replaced, and made it run far better, there was no change in the initial problem. Any ideas on what it may be, or has anyone else run into the problem?

You'd want to get a scan tool on there that can communicate with all of the modules to get some direction with this.

Try to be specific about what is happening and in what order. Are you saying that the dash completely dies out, like flickers? Shuts down? Does the car run poorly all the time or only when this dash business is happening?

I wouldn't throw any more parts at it. You have to have an idea of the problem first since so many things can cause the same symptoms.

Next step, scan for codes. In all modules, not just engine, if possible.
