splash shield broken off! help!

hello!! so the other day i underestimated a pothole and it basically ate my car alive and scraped and ripped a part of my passenger side splash shield off! thankfully it was only a small chunk, but is it okay for me to keep it like this or will i have to replace it? i dont think it will affect much but i still don’t want anything getting stuck in my engine or anything like that. any input will be greatly appreciated! thanks!
