Hi Everyone. I’m new on here and I could use some help please. I have 2011 Nissan Versa. I was trying to replace my clock spring I guess that’s what’s called behind the wheel. I had a really difficult time getting the yellow airbag plug and the grey one next to it off. I was trying to pull the grey one out with a screw driver and by accident I cut off three wires that were to the grey plug. The wires came out with the metal prong inside. Does anyone have a picture diagram they can help me out please so I can put back in if possible I don’t want to blow anything?
a picture would help me out a lot. Thank you. Also do you know if that harness could be bought? I try to look it up online shows me everything but what I need.
Thank you everyone for your help.

Yep, messing with very cheap components there that will cost you 10X what they are worth and butchering wiring there shows high incompetence, every connector there should easily unclick with no trouble provided you do it in the correct way.

Forget any pics as somebody has to tear theirs apart to get some and as well that part has so many things going on you may be talking about a hundred different locations. In short, NOT happening. Your only prayer is to yourself post pics of the problem, it may prompt somebody to say something.

The yellow and red airbag connectors have locks on them that lift up to unlock the connector from the pin, if you looked at your new spiral cable (clockspring) you could easily take one apart to see how they lock, but no, no thinking going on there.

Just did my '11 Versa one and piece of cake................I certainly hope you got that battery disconnected, if an airbag goes off to hurt you you will wish you had.

If the bag light was on you likely will find it still on when the work is done, you have to put the bag system into diagnostic to get it to recognize that things are back right to get the light to go back off after the clockspring work.

If I were you, I would consider taking the car into the dealership and have them put it back together. Your lucky that the air bag didn't blow up in your face, and EVERYTHING needs to be put back correctly in order to insure the air bag will operate as designed!!!

These sections will have info, and pinouts on Yellow/Grey connectors:
SRS for airbags
AV for radio controls
EC for ACSD/cruise controls
LT if switches lighted

As for a harness, those wires are part of the main harness. The only way to get that is to gut everything forward of the seats. You can however do a cut/splice with something from a junkyard
if one is close by.

There is an old post somewhere around here on adding steering wheel buttons for the radio. If you can find it, it definately will help you.

Thank you everyone for your help. Yes battery was disconnected before trying this removable it was dangerous I was messing with fire someone that had it before me butchered a couple harnesses I think someone tried installing either a steering wheel control wire to radio or tried doing a remote start and didn’t know what they were doing obviously wrong harness. I was able to find diagram and put my few wires back with no problems. Seem strong and sound but I have it going to a shop that I know that’s really good at this stuff I’m confident they will steer me in the right direction. I’m sure I did fine too.
I appreciate all your inputs and concerns.
Best,
Phil

If the circuits you messed up were actual airbag ones, they are super sensitive to any extra resistance in there at ALL. The cuts need soldering to get that closer and simply mechanically splicing them is going to lead likely to bag codes when the computer does not like the resistance; even as low as a couple ohms can trigger a code.

I for one have just in the last month jinked on several of those circuits to mod what was running to spiral cable and what wasn't on my '11, I used simple short pieces of wire to do it and the whole thing works fine now. The spiral itself has a harness about 6-8 inches long beyond the ribbon ends to connect both ends of it into the rest of the system.

The 3 wires that got pulled out were in the grey harness directly next the yellow plug on the bottom of steering wheel. Colors were pink, black and a red wire which were in the grey plug I believe all the yellow wire are in the yellow harness I never touched so I believe the airbag is fine. I’m not sure tho I do have some looking at it. No wire damage was yellow. I would love to locate that grey harness that attaches to to yellow and buy a new one it would make me fell better but I’m sure I’ll be okay. I also want to get my steering wheel functions to work which they don’t right now

Okay everyone I need your expert opinion here this I never came across before in my life and the dealer ship is lost for words. I broke down at the dealer ship waiting for a second key to be made I was outside waiting with the car running until they got me in because I had no appointment on there busy day Monday. As I’m sitting out in the parking lot my car was running and I’m playing with my radio the car just simply stalled out in the middle of no where. And I tried starting it back up I get nothing at all no crank at all. I replaced the starter and alternator in there parking yesterday not even a crank still. It almost feels like electrical or my alarm system doesn’t recognize my key anymore. I am lost for words I tried everything in my power to figure this out and the dealer is lost too. They try hooking up to there diagnostic system nothing. I checked fuses and tried a couple relays that were close to my match but not direct match. So 150 in a starter and 150 in alternator and 265 tow back home. This car won’t even give me 1 crank and odd thing I noticed is that my rear defroster light switch will not turn off kills my battery.
had battery charging but won’t stay charged with out running for altnator to work.
This is my 2011 Nissan versa. I dumped so much money in to this and what a tiring day yesterday. If I don’t get back to work tomorrow I’ll lose my job at the USPS. Please any help here would be very appreciated I live in the country with my daughter my car is our life line.
thank you again Nissan Exsperts

You have a lot of issues to deal with..........dealership has no answers? They should be able to give you some information you can use. First off, did they check you battery under load to make sure it is o.k.?? Next on the agenda do you have enough gas in your tank? If your car is has an automatic transmission try starting the car in "neutral" instead of "park". If your "neutral safety" switch has gone bad, your starter will not engage. Another possibility could be your starter relay having failed. If the dealership could not get their diagnostic equipment to work that is a major problem that may indicate that some electrical component has been fried due to the erratic electrical issues you have been having. Good luck!!!

They are very good points and concerns now. I am low on gas too. Car won’t even crank over at all not even in neutral. I checked that. Relays im not certain on I didn’t replace them all apparently the relays for Nissan versa or the ones that I need are on back Order or something they can’t be bought until April 28th by my autozone n advance auto. Or online. You have me wondering with the relay and neutral saftety though. My problem all accrued from the person before me tried installing a remote start cutting up wires in a bunch of harnesses that weren’t needed. The safety switch is one place that would be needed for remote start. I wish I new more about cars to test these theories I have no idea how. I’ve learned a ton from this car tho. I appreciate your input
