A lot of my family and friends have Nissan's with CVT's (Sentra and Altima mostly although no Versa's) and if this happened I'm sure I would have heard about it from em. I'd see if you can replicate the problem and if so speak with a Nissan Tech about it (ask for a Tech II, the first ones you get usually know next to nothing).
