What brands are the subs/ amp? How much is he selling them for?
I know the subs are sony xplodes, u can get them at walmart, but idk the sub, as for the price 100 for the two subs, box, and amp, he bought a nice setup now, im just wondering if these are decent

I had an xplode sub at one time, it thumped pretty decent. That's a rather good price, considering I think new would be about 3-400 for the setup, depending on the amp brand.
Is that amp 600 peak? or RMS? If its peak it sounds a little weak to run 2 12's, May get some distortion if you crank it at all. Good price though, maybe pick it up and get a better amp? Or just run one of the subs? I have 1 12" in my V, it is retarded loud... Like painful ear drum loud lol. Just some options
He mentioned some kind of two link thing or something, it will be hooked on one sub first, I gotta talk to him about it.

Not a fan at all of the Sony subs OR amps, but if this is your 1st sub/box/amp setup, thats a great price.

This is totally incorrect. Not all subs are designed to handle the same RMS power, so to say 600 max is weak to run (2) 12" subs...thats relative to what they handle RMS...So if the amp is 600watts max, but 300wrms, and the subs handle 150-300wrms, it would be a great amp, considering its clean compliant power. Distortion isnt a matter of cranking it as much as it is a product of accurate gain level matching. The gain on the amp isnt a volume or loudness control, you match it with the voltage of your head unit in order to NOT have issues with distortion. OP if you buy this, more info like what amp would be great, I will help walk you thru proper gain matching. Relax there buddy, just relax
Lol, yeah forgot this isnt the Altima forum....its a lil more laid back here. :)......And thats a good thing. Sorry Newowner2011.
I think $100 bucks is a steal of a deal considering it's your first setup. I dont know a lot on car audio myself but with time and some nice help we can all expand our knowledge :)
man this is old, im actually just running a single 12" pioneer sub and kicker amp. Might upgrade it next week, either that, Double din head unit, or save and get some oem alloys, tough decisions hmmm
Hey if you get a new head unit let me know cause i am considering swapping out my factory one.
I already have a JVC single deck head unit, I suggest switching out the factory one, you'll get a lot more quality out of an aftermarket head unit
Just check out the fuse(s) rating. Ive seen plenty of so-called 1000watt amps that only had 1 20-30amp fuse in them. Also test them in a box (subs & amp) before you buy.
