Sub question

Hey guys/girls,

I'm not very good with car audio so if you guys can help thats awsome!

So my 8" Infinity sub just blew, and i bought a new 10" Energy Sub. Its friggin amazing and super friggin loud but... it seems a little overpowering which i cant even hear the songs play in my car that well.

Before I'd be able to really turn up the volume and i'd be able to hear a good amount of bass and still be able to hear the songs I play.

Sorry if this is confusing, but i'm not sure how to really explain it, other than for example when i used to play my songs at volume 30-35 the song playing would be balanced with the bass now when I have it at lets say 15 the bass is super loud and the song playing is quiet and not very audible due to the bass from the sub.

Any suggestions for an audio noob? lol

(and dont get me wrong, i love a lot of bass, but balanced you know :p )

You should have your sub amp set to Low Pass and your deck set to High Pass. That way the sub handles the bass and the speakers only the highs.
Your talking about a high low converter. It converts your speaker wire to rca for your amp as well. Try this. Either turn the bass down on the headunit and see if that helps. Or set your bass to 0 bass and adjust your amp gain for the bass till its right....if that is still over powering your sound turn it down some...bass anyways.lol and if that don't do it for you then grade the rest...headunit speakers and 4 channel amp...but that's if you want to go crazy.lol

well i adjusted the bass, but it still seems a little off. being that the bass is still super loud and well i cant really hear the audio cause its so low. i've gotta play around with some stuff and see what i can do, cause i dont wanna hear just bass all the time lol

and aaron if i still have this issue by the time our GTA meet comes around, i'll just get you to help me out :p
do you have the factory radio or after market?
Are your spreakers still stock? If so that is probably your problem the versa comes stock with 20 watt speakers which is probably the worst you could get try up grading your.component speakers and installing some tweeters then your speakers will keep up with your sub.
whats funny is the fact that i fixed it by turning down the bass...

some songs are still absurdly loud with regards to bass, but its probably just the quality of the song itself.

To turn the amp down depending if u have a bass knob or not uf u do simple just turn down like volume if not then u can adjust it one the amp it self on the amp there should be two or thre knobs . Moat time u beed a small screw driver and start messin with them the one that says high pass and low pass try settin it in the middle and adjust from there have your music roughly how loud u normaly play it. Repeate with other knobs and find wat sounds good to u
sounds good, i'll try that out when i get some time! =)
