Surprise Bonus with V Note Fog Lamp Kit

3273 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  TKO
I bought the Fog Lamp Kit PN 999L1-4Z000 for my Versa Note SV (w/o SL) and found a nice surprise. The new stalk switch that came with the kit apparently includes the VARIABLE TIME intermittent wipe feature. Something I found missing when I bought my SV. Interesting that Nissan did not even say anything about that fact in any of their materials.

Just made my day!

Wow, that's a big extra >:D feature to be included in the fog light kit. I agree with you the SV should include this as standard but that makes the price of the fog light kit easier to swallow. It works, right?
why do you get a wiper stalk with a foglight kit? Or are both stalks one single unit in the column?

Awesome bonus feature though for sure.

The fog light switch is built-in at the left lever

The Fog Lamp Kit includes a new steering wheel stalk assembly (combination switch). The assembly is all ONE PIECE and includes the left stalk light switches (adds the fog lamp switch) and right stalk wiper functions (adds time interval). This part by itself lists for over $200 from Nissan.

This PDF lists all what's included and the instructions to install the kit.

Peacock Power, Yes it works! As soon as I realized it had this feature on the switch, I immediately installed the switch to confirm the variable timer works even before installing the fog lights.

I think it's quite a value personally, since I would have easily paid an extra $100 just to get the time interval feature on my wipers.

That's cool, this moves the fog lights up my priority list with the added feature. Thanks for letting us know about this.
This def makes spending $250 on fog lights a little easier to swallow. I couldn't live without my variable speed wipers.

Well if anyone is still interested in obtaining this kit, now is the time to jump on it. Part #999L1-4Z000 is going for about $55 plus shipping right now. My kit is due to arrive tomorrow and I hope I am not disappointed.

I have already upgraded the headlights on the car to HID, made one heck of a difference in night driving. As this is my wife's car the mods I make on this are more in the area of improvements for her and being able to see at night is a biggie.

Have to admit that the addition of the Intermittent switch to the wipers will be a nice plus. The stock factory switch on the SV leaves a bit to be desired. You're either barely moving the water or full speed ahead. We purchased this car new back in May of last year, I was surprised that the original windshield wiper blades had to be replaced in October. But that in itself made a huge difference. I love to race and I have trained myself to drive as long as possible without using the wipers, but the wife has to have them on just as soon as a rain hits the windshield.

I thought the 2014 Note SV came standard with the Variable Time Intermittent (Int Time) wiper switch. Even though I bought the S Plus, I remember strongly considering the SV, one big reason being the Int Time function on the wiper switch. I still have the brochure for the 2014 Note and remember seeing that the SV comes standard with it so it's very odd that your SV didn't originally have it.

EDIT: I'll be damned. I'm not home so I cannot see my paper brochure but I found one online and it confirms what all of you say (not to doubt you all since you know your car best as you're the owner). The Variable Intermittent Time wipers come only on the SL package; it is not included with the stock/standard SV trim level. What a gyp.

I guess that's because the wiper switch comes connected to the headlight switch; therefore, you have to get the fog light switch in order to get the Int Time wiper switch. I assume Nissan does not make the Int Time wiper switch separately from the fog light switch. If Nissan made the Int Time wiper switch without the fog light switch, I'd buy that.
