=/ some people are just stupid. Why would you continue to back out when clearly if you're looking (whether you hear the horn or not) there a damn car there! And not wanting to give you info? that's just stupid, maybe she's got some hidden stuff on her record she doesn't want, or she doesn't want to pay for what she did, especially if she was in a rental
The Versa got HIT...!!!
So I went into a gas station to fill my tires with some air this morning and as I was trying to exit the gas station, this lady started backing out of the parking spot in front of the gas station store. I honked at her and she stopped. AND THEN SHE CONTINUED BACKING UP! There was a car behind me, so I couldn't get out of there in reverse. I laid on the horn and the CAR KEPT COMING! Finally, she hit me. What transpired next was some crazy @%&!
She jumps out of the car and starts screaming and cursing at me. Some choice statements:
"You need a louder horn!"
"Why didn't you move out of the way? You're an insurance scam artist! I know what the F you're up to!"
She legit launched a 2 minute tirade at me. I'm in a hurry, so I'm like let me see your license and registration. Here's my license and registration.
She goes:
"I'm not giving you my @#%?ing license! You can only see my registration! [email protected]#!$ you!"
We argue back and forth. She's screaming expletives and I'm getting pissed off, but keeping calm. Then she gets in the car and I go "If you don't give me your license and drive off, I am calling the cops." She jumps out of her car, gets in my face, and screams at me: "I'm not giving you my !#@$$ing driver's license!!!"
I tell her the choice is hers, and that I will now be calling the police. She finally hands me her license and I copy everything down. She's from PA and she's in a Chevy Impala rental, BTW. She looks like strung out trash - bad teeth, star tattoo near her eye, a sort of half mullet, insane eyeliner...
So she's SCREAMING AT ME, HYSTERICAL, SAYING SHE'S GOTTA MEET HER BOYFRIEND. I finish and hand her back her license and registration. She throws my license and registration at me. I'm ultra pissed now so I say:
"What the hell is wrong with you, bitch!"
Then she runs right up to me, gets in my face, and suddenly PUSHES ME. HARD. LIKE REALLY HARD. I get lifted out of my Birkenstocks sandals as I was pushed back, but I didn't fall! I'm like WHAAAAT?! I half raise a fist. Should I drop her with a well-placed chin shot? No, don't do that. I don't know what to do. Can't clock her. Can't touch her. Then she tried to spit at me, but it clung to her mouth and fell on her chest. I finally said GET HELP. And walked away.
The damage is pretty minor... big scratches on the bumper, but no real dentage. Will post a pic later.
Lots of witnesses, lots of nice people offering their numbers for witness statements. Not worried about the insurance process, but it is a pain in the ass!

Yeah, I'm thinking that was the case. It's always been mandatory procedure to exchange information.
You should have called the cops and got a report. With out that report here in CT the accident never happened.

If she touched you, its assault. You can still go to the police station and file a report. They may even send a cop out to you. People like that need to be chin-checked or they are just gonna go around getting away with shit. The fact it has become such a hassle to do the right thing in this world is disgraceful.

That sir, would NEVER fly down here in Louisiana....people are absolutely insane and will not take that kind of abuse haha If it were me, I would've knocked the little teeth that were left out of her mouth and be done with it....the bumper would hardly matter as much as what she had done to you as a human being. Phew, I hope I never have to deal with someone like that in my first accident/hit.

I just got back from the police station. The cop was a total butthole. When I told him the story, he looked at me dismissively as if to say, "a woman pushed you?!?!?! MAN UP!" When he asked me if I was hurt and I said no, he looked at me downright disgustedly. By now he was really annoyed, and said under his breath, "If you reeeeaaaaeally want to, we can file a report. But the DA is not gonna subpoena her and drag her from PA to MA because she pushed you. Especially since you're not hurt." I told him that regardless of how minor it was, it was a violation of my civil rights. And that I had witnesses. He reiterated his points and by that time, a huge line had formed (including one battered woman), so I just left.

And yeah, I've been boxing and sparring for 5 years, and I've never competed, but I'm sure I can handle myself. But the thing is... it was a woman. Pummeling a woman is BAAAD. I mean, if she had come at me with a knife, different story. But all she did was push me. I had to let it go. If it had been a guy, game on!

Reported it to my insurance, too. Will get an answer in 3-5 days. Have witnesses. Not worried.
I would of called the police and filed a lawsuit for harassment if she tried to pull a fast one on me. Also, if involved in an accident, DO NOT hesitate to call the police. If you don't , then the accident didn't happen unless you have witnesses. This lady will keep on getting away with it and she will eventually pay her dues.

In the end I'm glad no one got hurt. Getting into a physical altercation whether it be a man or woman over a fender bender would seem extreme to me. But dam that woman was close to making it justifiable.

But then again most systems look at it wrong. If a woman pushes a guy first and he pushes back they'll throw him in jail even tho she did it first. But if a woman pushes or something to a guy and he does nothing they just laugh, its wrong.
