Tint question

Hello, new member here

I was offered free window tinting from the dealer after buying my Versa. I've never had car windows tinted before, so I want to make sure that when I set up my appointment I know what to ask for (if I'm given an option).

Do dealers provide different options for tinting? I know I want to get the legal tint limit for Florida, but I was wondering if there are different "kinds" of tints, and if so, is there a recommended one?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forums!

I have never gone thru the dealer for tints, but they may make you get the legal limit. But if you are okay with that then you should be fine.

Are they providing you with any type of warranty on the film? Be sure to ask them that. It's worth having.

There are different type of tints, the cheapest have metals in them that are suppose to interfere with cell phone signals, but that hasnt happen to me yet, so i doubt it will, n they can get more expensive. There are others with different colors, but they look weird imo. Since its free, im sure the dealer will want to give you the cheapest tint, but as long as they give you lifetime warranty, i say go for it. Also legal limit in florida is 15% on back and 28% in front. I say go with that, I have that and it doesnt look unbalanced. Im sure you can go 5% darker and cops wont give you a problem, but just to make sure, i say go with legal limit.

Yeah, I was thinking of going with the legal limit. I did ask about the lifetime warranty and they said they would honor that.

Could you post a picture of your tints so I could see what it looks like? I'm curious.

me and my friends always prefer dealer tints, just when the car is still brand new (however my mom bought my versa and i told her to get the 1.8L but she went and got the 1.6L.. i told her white she bought white T_T) get the tints dude its free lol, a friend of mine spent almost $300 for a tint on lexus (im not sure if thats only the tinting cost but it might be lol)
