2011 versa. All my lights work except my tail lights. Bulbs are good. Fuse is good. Factory audio system has been removed. No radio atm. Where do I start?
Read codes and see if there are any saved ones. My 2018 Versa S had slip indicator light after a few miles of driving. No CEL. At dealership they read codes, it was one stored for a stop light switch, which was replaced under warranty.
The point is, even though there are no any warning lights, there still could be some stored codes.
There is a fuse in the IPDM box (white box with black cover by battery) under the hood. The fuse is marked tail and right about in the middle.
This fuse also powers the dash lights except the cluster as well.
By not having the radio, the circut is detecting an improper load and blowing.
'By not having the radio, the circut is detecting an improper load and blowing.'
It would be highly irregular for that to happen, fuses just don't do that. Power not used loads nothing at all, or the battery itself would blow out.
Improper load is too much, too little does nothing. Look at fusebox setup, much bigger fuses are ahead of the much smaller ones in a same circuit and they don't blow do they?
If BRAKE lights are out start at the stoplight switch.
only too well.
