I have a 2015 versa SV sedan (very early production 2015) that I've owned it for about a month. The car has about 15K miles. This is also my first car with a CVT transmission. I've noticed that the first few minutes after a cold soak, when coming to a stop and accelerating again, there is a brief hesitation, and faint shudder. It only happens after the cars been sitting overnight and clears up after a mile driving. Its not that noticeable or bothersome, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this symptom and if they complained about it how the dealer handled it?

CVT transmission are mysterious in nature. Ive had 3 CVT. My Altima would randomly shudder at stops. My Versa sometimes accelerate to quickly, almost a bucking fashion. My Infiniti G37 was nice and smooth all the time though. Try to drive gingerly the first couple minutes, let the engine and trans warm up. If its still bad then maybe see what the dealership says, maybe you can get a transflush out of it.

No magic to them at all but more unreliable than oldschool trans as those often would lose a gear but could still get you home on another. Since there is basically only one control 'gear' in CVT then very likely anything going wrong at all and it's a walk home there.

Part of the reason to keep it all mysterious will be to keep people from knowing how much simpler they are inside than oldschool ones were, maybe 1/2 the total number of parts there. And why they do not want to change anything but entire assemblies there. Protecting the business there.

I worked on CVT stuff 25 years ago. No mystery there. One thing I can say is to change fluid more common than they suggest but they've even turned that into mysterious stuff. All trying to get you to go back to them only to work on it.

If I had one new I would likely change fluid first time at around 1000-1500 miles myself. Maybe they do that in service but I would. Like break-in on a motor, to get new wear-in particles out of trans. That metal drive chain is bound to make a lot of new debris at first.
