I thought those dots were to dark the area behind the rear-view mirror, providing better visibility. :
correct. many manufacturers do that to partially block the sun.
Nice to see that on a less expensive car like the V:woot:

The windshield antenna occupies a section 'about' 12 inches long, 5 inches high between rear-view mirror and top. It's full of what looks like hundred of small black dots.

McLeod1981, you sent me a private message. Firefox blocked it. By the time I 'adjusted' Firefox, it disappeared. Do you mind re-sending it?

Thanks to Mogh and 08versailles. At first, I thought you two were way out in left field. But, before dismissing the both of ya, I went Googling. Lo and behold, it looks like you're 'spot-on' {pun accidental}. The auto glass industry refers to is as 'Third Visor Frit.'

Good day versa owners. it's me again. Know this one is posted a year ago and i apologize for reviving it. Just got a problem and needs some assistance. I would like to say, this club has plenty of information and that is why i often visiting it. So my problem was that, I accidently cut my atenna but reattached it. It had a reciving issues now, however, it was doing this before I cut it. Why is this happening? It is roughly 10 inches long, and I simply reattached it by stripping the wire ends where it was cut. I removed the white stringy substance in the middle, and only attaching the copper.

Problem was, when I first got this versa 03 I had some range issues and I basically took an antenna off of a TV and attached it to the vexplorer next to the Antenna (I put the antenna in its plastic tube and taped it to the TV antenna) -- it felt like this gave me more range, however, I recall turning it on one day and the range was crap and I thought it was an antenna problem. So far, I have been tinkering with ways to make the range better, and my last idea no longer works, but rather, makes it worse. Now knowing this the range issues have gotten a little better since I have gotten rid of the TV antenna. But then again, I still don't have ideal range and have no clue how to increase it. I'm a little confused when you say that the antenna needs to be 11 meters. Wouldn't that mean I would need something around 440 inches or about 36 feet? Kindda weird to me. Please help. i you have any ideas about this issue please share it to directly to this thread. Again, an apology for reviving it and for posting too long. Just want to be detailed enough.
