Hello all, I would like to begin with saying I am a big time lurker and fan of this forum. I recently put an HID kit in my 2010 Versa SL and where I'm from we need DRL. With the new HIDs which work great btw I cannot have this.

Now above my headlights I have 2 orange lights witch turned on with my daytime lights which I have replaced with 2 white LEDs. What I am trying to do is bypass the H4 3 prong wires to light up those lights when the car turns on so they can act like a daytime light. My issue is which colour, of the 3, on each side of the car is the ground, high beam and low beam, and which of those provide the constant on I would have had with the daytimes. Anyone with experience or a diagram would help me tons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

What country are you needing to meet DRL regulations? They vary by country and DRLs are not standard on American models like my 2016 sedan S. :nerd:

Id rather you put that back to stock and get a low wattage led for the head lamp, then get a set of HID protector driving lamps. Thats assuming your country allows that.

Putting an HID in a traditional reflector lamp just blinds the people you share the road with.

The parking lights are powered from the tail light relay, the turn signals are powered from the BCM.
Those are the only lights I see in my diagrams.
For the DRL power looks like you'll need pin 2 on the right headlight(WHT).

He's wanting to use the original headlight socket wires it sounds like to power the fake 'DRL' in the other housings.

Go to nicoclub.com, enroll for free and the OEM service manuals are there and looking likely for section LI in your year for 'lighting'. It will have enough schematics to choke you and does give that information.

The pin I mentioned should have DRL power from the DRL 1 relay. He can use that as his power source and they should have ground already. I would just use a multimeter if I didn't have diagrams, and even if I did I would use it to verify.

Using one source to verify another is wise action in today's world of blowing out mega-expensive parts due to not being 100% sure...............great way to turn car into a brick.

Working based on diagrams alone is what's dangerous. I've found them to be inaccurate at times, that's why it's good to check and confirm.
On these cars the DRL power outputs are fused and relayed. You'd have to be an idiot to fry something.
