Well the same class would be aveo, yaris, fit, rio, focus, accent, etc. The yaris and fit did average. The aveo, accent, rio, yaris w/o side airbags, and focus did poor. The versa was the only one to get excellect arcoss the board. Ive got facts anyday, anytime, for anyone who wants to go against me. lol

There is a now side poll test which smacks the side of the car with a telephone pole shaped thing at 40mph. The Versa did poorly with this and thus the low rating. Though I still don't see how it gets a 2 star overall.

I am a little disappointed by this. I mean many people ask me how I can drive such a small tin can. I always say it got 4 and 5 stars safety rating and now I can't say that :(.

As far as people going after nissan I don't know about that. But I do feel some things like nhtsa and the EPA are fudging numbers in favor of american cars. Hey whatever it takes to give the US economy a little boost I guess.
Thats bull about the poll test. Any car is not gonna do well in a poll test. Id hate to see how the aveo did. A large truck or SUV would do fine I believe. As far as cars, thats gonna be hard to do. I think cars a pretty safe right now, and theres really no need for any more test. I agree with a front, side, rear, and rollover crash tests. Those are the basics and we should stick with that. I know what kind of car I bought, and I know when an accident accurs, its gonna do its best, and it will be totaled. Cars like versa, aveo, yaris, etc are made for a purpose, point A to B, in good fuel mileage, and comfort. When its in a wreck, its gone most of the time, cause of its price and resale value. I dont care what it says, it still got a 4/5 star rating, and I will continue to say that. The orignal crash test in 2007 stated that, and im going with it. If they did their job right in 2007, then there is NO need to change it in 2010, thats just bull shit. I hate people most of the time, and this is another reason why, lol.

I understand they are trying to make cars safer, but the poll?? I know it happens, but that little tiny poll is gonna do some damage. I don't know if that is preventable. Hitting a poll, is like a baseball bat hitting the car. It does damage, and adding more force to it, like 40mph, would just destroy a car to scrap metal. Just like if an escalade plows into the side of your Versa at 40mph, that's not gonna be good. The weight of that escalade is gonna hurt, and there's nothing that can be done about it. The bigger the car, normally its safer. How about this.... Lets go back to all steel cars, but include seat belt restraints and airbags to protect our necks, back, arms, etc. Sound good? lol yeah right, there goes our fuel mileage!!! lol Apparently crash testing cars isn't enough to do, so they are thinking of more things to do.

Or maybe this. Make all the different test that they want, and make a 1-5 star rating as a final overall score that reflects all the tests that they do. I care, but I don't. To me, as basic standards go, the Versa is very good, and best in its class. Anybody who gets in a bad wreck, regardless what kind of car it is, is gonna have injury's, and its not gonna be fun. So ill leave it as that.....
