Does anybody know if the Timing Belt has a warranty on a Versa Note? I bought a Brand New 2015 versa Note and at 28,000 the dealer told me I needed a new Timing Belt and It WASNT covered under the Powertrain or extended warranty I bought. On the way home my Brand New Belt I paid $400 to have replaced broke on the way home and they said I had to pay to replace it, I didn't once I called the Owner. The Manual says its covered up to 60,000 miles or 6 years. Any suggestions?

Apparently your timing chain didn't break or you'd likely have considerable engine damage since these are interference engines and the pistons and valves would collide with one another if the timing chain broke. Are you sure it wasn't the serpentine belt they replaced? I've not changed a serpentine belt on a Versa so don't know how hard it is but I have changed them on other cars and can often be done in 1/2-1 hour. I'd think you got ripped off if you paid $400 to have a serpentine belt replaced. I'd be checking with the dealer to see actually what work was performed. If they said they replaced the timing belt I'd call them a liar and demand a refund since this car doesn't have one. If they replaced the serpentine belt get them to show you how much time is allotted for a serpentine belt change, multiply the time by the hourly rate, add the cost of the belt and see if they ripped you off.

I would guess for $400 some additional work has been done, if it was a serpentine belt replacement.
Had my 2012 Versa sedan serpentine belt replaced at the dealer and it ran $195. Looked on Youtube to see how it was done, and it is a total pain in the backside. You need to remove half the front passenger side fender underside, then be a contortionist to be able to work in the tight spaces. Well worth the price to have the dealer do the job rather than try and tackle it myself. Twenty years ago I might have done it, but at this stage in the game, I would have looked like a pretzel after crawling around under the car for hours on end.
