This is interesting data... Do you think the drop in sales is related to the CVT transmission failures??

I assume COVID shutdowns resulted in less parts and cars being produced.
It would be interesting to see how the Versa compares to other sub compacts.

I don't think my local Nissan stores have even stocked a Versa in 2+ years.

Mine either. I think that plays a lot into the drop in sales.

I love the Versa design, but HATE the CVT transmission, and would never purchase a used or new Nissan. They knew they had a MAJOR problem with the CVT, and their idea of a fix was to stockpile a number of replacement transmissions so that when your CVT crapped out, they could just throw another one just as bad!!!!!!

Sadly... this action will leave a "bad taste" in the consumer's mouth and they'll shy away from Nissan products.
Personally, I had an old (manual transmission) Datsun pickup with a Nissan engine. You just couldn't kill the thing... what a work horse.
So I felt pretty comfortable purchasing a manual transmission Versa. I have no complaints about my Versa and am impressed with the 40-42 mpg (combined). It has been a fun "bucket list" car for me and my girlfriend.
