Versa Wish List

I've been reading a plethora of articles and threads on various websites and forums, and it seems there are some things that people wish were different on the Versa.

So, if you had the chance to help design the next generation Versa, what things would you specifically have changed since they bug you with the current design?

For me, I'd change the following:

  1. Standard - Front Cupholders - make them further apart (side by side, not staggered) and a little lower towards the floorboard, so two larger cups (32oz+) can fit simultaneously.
  2. Standard - An in-dash info display, with things like MPG, Tire Pressure, and Outside Temp.
  3. Optional - Auto On/Off Headlights option; just like pretty much all Versa/Tiida models available outside the USA.
  4. Standard - Seats with more lumbar support (optional - adjustable via seat lever). Would be much more comfortable for people like me with chronic lower back problems (thanks to the little old lady that rear ended me and put me in the hospital over 10 years ago).
  5. Std/Opt - HVAC fan speed adjustment like the Altima, where there is a seemingly unending amount of selections. Because sometimes 1 or 2 is not enough, but 3 or 4 is too much.
  6. Optional - Auto climate control. Hey, why not? Just set it and forget it!
  7. An optional "Comfort Package" that includes 3, 4 (adjustable), 5, and 6. :D

I think the main reason why the versa doesn't have a lot of the fancy features is because, it wouldn't be as affordable as the cars in its class. Trust me I wish they made a versa se-r with the 2.5L 200hp motor, with navigation, climate control, rear disc brakes, bigger factory wheels, you name it. But then it would be way up over the 20k mark.

However. It wish it came standard with a watertemp gauge, outside temp, everything you have listed in #2.

I know that's exactly why it doesn't come with all those features.

It's just another example that a majority of US consumers have been "programmed" in to thinking a small, fuel efficient car can not be luxury by any stretch. Whereas the Versa/Tiida in Europe IS available with auto climate control, touch screen navigation, traction control, leather seating, 50+ MPG diesel engine, etc.

Wake up, America! It's due time we get those fancy cool toys available in our small cars, too.
yeah i agree alot would be neat, ill be honest we bought it becuase the price, we really didnt care to much about the options but it would be nice to be able to get some of them.

i have never cared much for leather seats, but more interior color options would have been nice. TCS would be sweet.
What I would really like...its simple yet efficient...auto locking doors after you hit 10mph. Other than I like that it is an affordable vehicle and everything else you basically can get done or do yourself.

I like that idea. Auto locking doors would be a nice addition. As for the wish list I posted, it would be nice if they added another trim level above the SL, so it gives the buyer the choice to go with the cheaper S, the decently priced SL, or the all out loaded model (SE?).

I'm just sick of the cookie-cutter cars (and the economy class is the worst offender) available here in the US when other countries can get the exact same car with so many more options if they wish.

I understand, i really wish they had pulsar gti-r's over here. But as far as the versa goes. The Tiida and Latio are better hands down.
I'd like to stop the goddam accelerator overrun when changing gears on the bloody thing.....unless you drive it like Aunt Betty the thing revs it's jubblies off between shifts, which is not only uncool, but very off-putting......imo anyway :p

You guys definately get a different spec than us over here in Aus. I got teh base base model and it about matches what you describe, so am I assuming you only get the ST?

US base model S is pretty equivalent to the AUS ST, except ABS is optional on our models.
Ah okay cool. I wasn't sure from reading a few different forums how different the models were from country to country.
its actually funny how many complaints there are about cars made here, and the better options in other countries, People always mention the options on the rangers as well

Thats with every car, the same car in another country is always better :banghead:

Window Tint Before and After

Got my windows tinted quite a while ago, so here are the before and after shots the day it was done.

Went with 20% 3M Black Chrome fully metalized film. Had the side windows, rear window, and windshield visor done along with a complementary full exterior detail.

Looking tough there mate, love the all black!
looks much better, I need to get mine tinted
Thanks, guys. It made one heck of a difference with keeping the interior heat down. I literally was able to go from using Max A/C fan speed 4 to normal A/C fan speed 2 in the 100+ degree weather and get the interior cooled down in about the same amount of time.
looks good!

Yeah I noticed the same thing when I had mine done, no wonder they call them the 'Glass Houses' :p
the new sentras actually do come with all those options and features that u mentioned.... on the sl models (except for navi) we have the altima climate controls. and the ser's come with paddle shifters and oil and g force gauges along with an info display indash. and if u opt to a specV it comes with limited slip differentials and front and rear strut bars and sportier suspension
