VW roadster Bluesport – it will be for 2014 - News - Volkswagen Blog

Nissan needs to build a mini roadster as well as other car makes. The market should be there. If they could keep price down and be fun that would be a plus. The Mini roadster is a start but it would take a risky venture to open the market up again. Hopefully VW is the risktaker and introduces this model to the US.:woot:

Nissan has made the Micra C+C for a while, just not in the US. It is a small 4 seater convertible. It has now been replaced by the murano cross-cabriolet.

How do you define a small roadster?

I think the Audi TT and the Mazda MX-5 both fall into that category.

Smart and Fiat make convertible versions of their entry level cars (fortwo and 500)
Definitely the MX-5 would.... I can't even get in the retractable hardtop one with the top up :biggrinjester:

For some reason the ragtop isn't as much of a problem.
MX-5 is ok but something new. fiat and smart are kinda young. I am saying a roadster that's in the low 20s that a regular joe could be alright in. I had a Karmann Ghia convertible in the 80s out in Ca. and that was fun.
Something new? I don't follow... they still make MX-5's.
VW, bring the Scirocco to the US...

Kinda looks like the new V HB on steroids but at least it could jumpstart a segment we haven't had in the US for a while.

Fiat...... Sigh, can believe these car have been released the us. I lived in Rome Italy for 3 years saw these things all the time. The first fiat 500 had a whole 15 hp.
Future looks dim for the VW BlueSport platform

...when the words future looks dim is in the thread, that's not a good sign. This is a sharp looking car and would be sad to see it's demise. If I were one of the engineers of this project right now, I would be sick.
