Hey Y'all!

Just wanted to get your feedback. What types of products do you want to see available for our cars?

I have lots of friends in the industry and they are always looking for input on the types of products to develop! Many of the Manufacturers here in Socal call me when they need vehicles for development and test fits.

I want to see this platform grow...and willing to help out where i can! Not only am i a dealer for aftermarket parts...but i'm also an enthusiast and own a Versa as well!

What are your thoughts? What would you like to see?

i think the thing i would like to see most is someone developing tuning software for the HR16DE engine in the Note/versa sedan as i know it has a lot of locked up potential just waiting for the right tune to come along. the engine itself benefits greatly from breathing mods such as injen's short ram intake which immediately generates another 4whp over stock which is pretty impressive for an engine of this size and just further reinforces the fact that nissan dialed back the performance greatly when it came to this engine and what i believe it is capable of. the other thing i would like to see is a wider selection of handling mods such as coil overs, springs, and also sway bars as when i was testing my setup out on the track at willow springs i noticed even with a strut tower brace, underbody chassis brace and the Tanabe NF210 springs when it came to dealing with high speed turns at a certain speed there was a bit of understeer still present in the chassis, so i would like to see both rear and front sway bars being developed if possible. the only other mods i would like to see off the top of my head is to finally see the development of a true cold air intake for the Note as the short ram from injen is good, but when it comes to dealing with heat inside the engine compartment it makes for a very poor choice to keep intake air temperatures stable which is critical for getting the most performance out of the engine. oh and lastly it would be so much appreciated by both myself and the versa sedan community if we could actually get a proper performance header developed for the HR16DE engine :D

My 1.6 is the older version so most suspension mods were shared with the 1.8 but I agree with Note-ified. Tuning software, header, intake(for the older 1.6), pulley, aftermarket engine parts to build it for boost, etc.

What note-ified said. The versa is already a fun car to drive and toss around, now we just need more after market performance companies to believe in it to and help use make a movement. I'll even let my car be a guinea pig test car for the 2nd gen sedans. :grin:grin:wink

Also forgot to mention for the manual guys we also need some upgraded components such as lighter flywheel, upgraded clutch and such
short shifter would be a plus! but it would be good to see anything come out.

What I want to know is why we don't have a short throw shifter yet!? I see the 1.8L has one, but no love for the 1.6L yet. I feel like a short throw shifter kit could really help change how the car shifts and help make changing into 5th gear a bit shorter.

Also do we have OEM window visors yet? I believe AVS makes them, but I would rather buy them from Nissan or a better company.

I am probably the only person in my country on the nissan owners Forums with This car(Tiida HB). not allot of upgradeability here for them. you guys are lucky :-D
it is sad really as this is popular car (not in the petrolhead community though,).

I love reading these forums on what the potential this car actually has.

Most companies are apprehensive when it comes to spending the time and resources to develop new products. They want to make sure there is a market for them where they can sell tons of them. The 1.8L has a short shifter...and i bet their sales will dictate as to whether they will make them for the 1.6.

I'm trying to get some feedback here on some wanted/needed parts...but only a handful of people have chimed in on this. When i go to the manufacturer and ask them to develop products for us, the first thing they ask is "How many of these can we expect to sell?". It makes it tough where there are just a handful of us actually interested in these parts!

As for the visors...nothing yet :(

With so many new members buying the Versa/Note and plenty of people going for the manual, I really hope enough of us make some noise to get manufacturers interested. I would think with so many people buying the Versa every month we would have enough people interested in parts such as a short throw shifter. I shall keep praying for one.

Scott, I'm guessing the window visors on your site for the Versa would not fit on the Note, correct?

The only downside is that most of the people with notes that are joining are just here to seek help with routine issues. This forum at this point unfortunately is still more of a help forum rather than an enthusiast forum as we still need quite a few more people wanting to mod this car before it can be considered an enthusiast forum.

It has always been the same with the hatchback 2011 that I have,,before I bought my versa I went on a bunch of sites and saw all that could be done to it,,sadly all that stuff was for the Tiida in Japan and most of that stuff hardly made it stateside without a ton of cash,,there has been a few companys willing to put out parts for the Versa but I know that if their sales goals are not met they will be really very reluctant to put out any more parts,,and at this point It would be very unlikly that they will be putting out any parts for the first gen versa since its not even in production anymore

Prime example is stillen...I see they have parts on their website but I never see any of the first gen hatchbacks with their body kit on them.

What's wrong with the stock shifter? It's literally perfect, it sits at the perfect height, the throws don't affect driveability or spirited driving (even then if you have a mostly stock 1.8 or 1.6, the throw of the shifter is the least of your worries).

I like my Versa, with what i've done to mine, it looks essentially like a butch Mazdaspeed 3, with way more room. That's what i'd like to compare to, if it was as fast as a Mazdaspeed 3, that'd be great. But, i'm doing the swap soon, after i pay my rent and after next paycheck.
