Hey Y'all!

Just wanted to get your feedback. What types of products do you want to see available for our cars?

I have lots of friends in the industry and they are always looking for input on the types of products to develop! Many of the Manufacturers here in Socal call me when they need vehicles for development and test fits.

I want to see this platform grow...and willing to help out where i can! Not only am i a dealer for aftermarket parts...but i'm also an enthusiast and own a Versa as well!

What are your thoughts? What would you like to see?

Scott
i think the thing i would like to see most is someone developing tuning software for the HR16DE engine in the Note/versa sedan as i know it has a lot of locked up potential just waiting for the right tune to come along. the engine itself benefits greatly from breathing mods such as injen's short ram intake which immediately generates another 4whp over stock which is pretty impressive for an engine of this size and just further reinforces the fact that nissan dialed back the performance greatly when it came to this engine and what i believe it is capable of. the other thing i would like to see is a wider selection of handling mods such as coil overs, springs, and also sway bars as when i was testing my setup out on the track at willow springs i noticed even with a strut tower brace, underbody chassis brace and the Tanabe NF210 springs when it came to dealing with high speed turns at a certain speed there was a bit of understeer still present in the chassis, so i would like to see both rear and front sway bars being developed if possible. the only other mods i would like to see off the top of my head is to finally see the development of a true cold air intake for the Note as the short ram from injen is good, but when it comes to dealing with heat inside the engine compartment it makes for a very poor choice to keep intake air temperatures stable which is critical for getting the most performance out of the engine. oh and lastly it would be so much appreciated by both myself and the versa sedan community if we could actually get a proper performance header developed for the HR16DE engine :D

And thank you for helping out the community scott....things just arent the same without you manning that parts counter, but jose is doing a pretty decent job so i'll give it some time :)

With so many new members buying the Versa/Note and plenty of people going for the manual, I really hope enough of us make some noise to get manufacturers interested. I would think with so many people buying the Versa every month we would have enough people interested in parts such as a short throw shifter. I shall keep praying for one.

Scott, I'm guessing the window visors on your site for the Versa would not fit on the Note, correct?
The only downside is that most of the people with notes that are joining are just here to seek help with routine issues. This forum at this point unfortunately is still more of a help forum rather than an enthusiast forum as we still need quite a few more people wanting to mod this car before it can be considered an enthusiast forum.

It has always been the same with the hatchback 2011 that I have,,before I bought my versa I went on a bunch of sites and saw all that could be done to it,,sadly all that stuff was for the Tiida in Japan and most of that stuff hardly made it stateside without a ton of cash,,there has been a few companys willing to put out parts for the Versa but I know that if their sales goals are not met they will be really very reluctant to put out any more parts,,and at this point It would be very unlikly that they will be putting out any parts for the first gen versa since its not even in production anymore
Prime example is stillen...I see they have parts on their website but I never see any of the first gen hatchbacks with their body kit on them.

cams and pistons would be awesome, intake manifold, ive seen the japan note have a different intake, would love to see some in the states or if a company makes em, like skunk2
yeah definitely would be nice if we could get some low compression pistons made for this engine to build it for turbo cause as it is the one turbo kit they make runs pretty low boost to keep the engine at a safe level of power.

I'd just like to add as a message to scott....im sure if need be there will be some of us on this forum that would be willing to help with some of the expense and or loaning their car if need be to get some of these parts developed....also if you dont mind would I be able to try and promote the versa note group on facebook to try and get more people interested?

I will offer to loan my Note to companies local to me as its an extra vehicle for me...i usually commute on my motorcycle ;)

I spoke to my Stillen rep yesterday, he is going to pitch the Note to his weekly meeting today to see if they are able to develop some parts for us! So we shall see what happens from it!

As for internals...once we can get an engine replaced here under warranty, i will be using it for measurements...and see about getting some internals developed for it as well.

And yes, please share and promote the Facebook Group! Thats why i created it! ;)

Scott

i think it should help that i e-mailed stillen quite a few months back to see if they were interested in developing parts for the Note as well, never got a response back, but at least it should be in their database to let them know there is interest.

Stillen dropped the ball with the vq35hr with there supercharger and then they needed 3 diffrent gen's of intakes to get it right. I myself hav3 my 08 350z makes 300whp on a mustang dyno. The versa is a fun zippy car but lacks aftermarket and it's sad cause it's a blast to drive and fast fow what it is. Here's a break down of what it needs
Intake:
Injen mr or jwt pop charger
Exhaust:
injen
High flow cats or test pipes:
Invidia or Crawford
Short shifter:
Twm
Clutch flywheel:
Jwt combo as always
Tune:
Good old uprev

Then just give me some random goodies swaybars strut bars poly bushings solid monts ect
And a lip kit. That's all this car needs and projector headlights lol
Injen already makes an intake for the note but it is just a short ram intake and tanabe does make an axle back exhaust for it but sadly it needs to be imported from japan. A company called 3d carbon makes a styling kit for the note....the only thing we are short is more suspension options in the way of coil overs and sway bars, short shifter, clutch and flywheel combos, and more exhaust and tuning options lol

I actually asked around about those, they seem to be for 2012+ versa and it does say note but nobody could confirm it they actually fit the Note.
go to BC racing's site directly and look up applications and you'll see that they list the Note and the same part number for the coil overs that they are offering on the nissanraceshop.com website, they list a completely different part number for the sedan coil overs on BC racing's website

edit: just went to BC racing's north america website and their applications list doesnt even list a coil over set for the versa sedan, just the Note with chassis code E12, which is what the current Note that we have here in the states is. also, you have to realize, the current Note that we have has been out since 2012, hence the 2012+ that they have listed in their applications list.
