What is this piece on the undercarriage called?

Hi all,

I've had this piece of plastic hanging down from the underside of my versa for quite some time now and just haven't gotten around to replacing it. It's quite annoying hearing a scraping noise every time I go up an incline (driveway), so I would like to finally get it fixed.

Please see the attached pictures for a glimpse of the part in question.

Damn I have that same problem just on the other side. I need to know too
Does this go into the wheel well? Looks like "protector -front fender"

Might look like two pieces stapled together but nissan parts system showing it as one whole piece. I would grab one from a junkyard so you can get all the hardware your missing too.

Thanks. After taking another look, it does appear as though it extends into the wheel well.

Interestingly enough, a passenger side replacement costs roughly double that of the driver side (here anyway). My only concern is that it looks like there is another piece (shown in picture 3) that is ripped and would prevent me from using the "stock" bolt hole in that location. That piece of plastic looks like it might actually be a part of the fender, but I can't tell for certain.

Edit: Maybe the other piece is the engine splash shield????
So, what is the piece called, and what was the repair cost?

They are about $50 each without clips.
Those are just the fender liners, they're one piece, and cheap too. I think you can get em off eBay for $30, and get 50 trim clips for a little over 10 bucks, which is worth it if you take apart your car regularly like i do. Trim clips are in my experience only good for a couple uses, after that they get brittle and the "wings" that the center button pushes out to hold something in start breaking off, making them useless. I find speed nuts are great for holding stuff that trim clips used to. I went to my local fasteners place and bought a big bag of speed nuts, they come in handy for alot of things.

Another cheap alternative is to go to the wreckers for your trim clip needs. They're small items so you can just walk out with a shit load of trim clips. Seeing as the cars are usually front end collisions, finding those fender liners intact is a long shot.

Hi All...

I realize that this is an older thread but I have the same issue as the OP, except that the piece we have falling is still attached in the front and is detached from the back.

It does not go into the fender well, but butts up against the fender liner. The mounting hole (in the 'shield') is a 'rectangular-shaped' hole that is maybe 1-1/2 to 2" long and maybe 3/4" wide )or so... hard to see).

I have been told that all I need is a push-in 'clip' but without being able to get under the car to see what size, I have no idea what I need.

Does anyone know what type and size 'clip' I need? I know that O'Reilleys has a bunch of plastic 'clips' but no one knows which one I need :(

Appreciate any replies... Happy Holidays to all :)

PS... to the OP, the third picture (far right) does look like there is a 'broken hole' in whatever it attaches to in the front (maybe the 'under-bumper'?).

Just look for a Nissan push pin trim clip, what i would do is measure the hole for the trim clip (get a rough idea) so you can find some that aren't too tight or too loose. Dealer if you want guaranteed to work... but the dealer charges like $3 each. It's much better value to get a bunch off eBay.

Edit: Take a picture of what you're talking about i have no idea...
Just take them off and leave them off lol I have 0 plastic liner under my car or in the wheel wells
